ci2own Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 So basically I have to type whatever the mame.exe file name is just put the -cc on the end? Mine is something stupid like mame.0.159nonag....... Really long I would recommend you to download latest mame version (0.178) from mamedev.com and updated ROMs to the same version.
Martin0037 Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Ok, I've never updated mame before so I download the new version and just drop the mame.exe file into the mame folder where the old version is at minute? Is there a no nag version or can this be switched off as the version I'm using doesn't do the annoying "move joystick left then right etc" Thanks for your help. Much apriciated
kylecp1979 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 It looks like from your pic you already have a mame.ini in the ini folder just copy that to the root of the mame folder where the exe file is.
Martin0037 Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Right, got the trackball working! Turns out, in the ini folder there's the mame.ini, vector.ini, vertical.ini, horizontal.ini - all withe same core input co told in. And if I change them all to what they should be... It works! Still no responce from the spinner thought, even just on Windows it surely should move the mouse left and right? It's a brand new one from arcade world uk. Plug it and it you get the Windows sound to say it's there, but no responce.

I just configured my Trackball and spinner with the following steps (With brand new mame): 1 Downloaded MAME and execute it (from command line) with -cc: mame64.exe -cc (This creates mame.ini config) 2 Edited mame.ini and changed: mouse 1 multimouse. 1 dial device. mouse trackball device mouse 3 Run Arkanoid game (which uses spinner) and entered config (TAB) > Input General > Player 1 Controls > Dial Analog > Press Enter and move spinner left to right and should appear something like "Mouse 6X" 4 Run World Class Bowling game (which uses trackball) and entered config (TAB) > Input General > Player 1 Controls > Track X Analog > Press Enter and move Trackball left to right and should appear something like "Mouse 7X". Then go to Track Y Analog > Press Enter and move Trackball up to down and should appear something like "Mouse 7Y". And that's it! i have done like this 5 minutes ago and worked like a charm! Hope it helps you!
ci2own Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Top man. Your a star Reason I couldn't get spinner working as its faulty. Even though it's brand new! Meant to move the curser left and right in Windows and it does nothing. Sent it back so hopefully when I get a replacement this will work. Thanks again. Cool! Just tell me if have a problem. But this exactly worked for me.
Martin0037 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 This has been sorted. It was the spinner board not working. Just for future reference- - small light flashes one then goes off when windows has recognised,it. It wasn't happening. Changed the board, all works.
