Struggling with Xpadder & 360 Wireless

Hey Everyone,

Spent all of this weekend setting up Hyperspin on my new pc

Pretty much got everything working with x3 system, SNES, Genesis and N64, games, videos, artwork etc.

Hit a bit of a brick wall with Xpadder and pulling my hair out. I want to use x2 wireless xbox 360 controllers, I have the required adapter for my pc.

First issue, can't get the controller working with HS, up and down work, I can enter a system, but when I press all buttons on the game, it doesn't load, it just stays there in the menu.

Is there anywhere which offers reconfigured  profiles for xpadder & 360 controllers for HS and various emulators?

Did you setup your controls for hyperspin? Did you setup your controls for the emulators?

I tried, got up & down working, but the "A" button wouldnt open systems, I set A as "Enter"?

did you configure your controller xpadder profile within rocket launcher?

I dont think I did you know, could you tell me how?

Thanks guys

are you using rocketlauncher?

then most of us configure its key mapper within the system unter the key mapper tap.

Yep I am using rocket launcher. I didn't know there was a key mapper within RL

Thanks. Is there a guide anywhere I can refer to for setting up the controller & xpadder up for a) HS & B) various emulators?

ok guys I think I am getting somewhere. so far I have created x2 controller profiles, 1 for HS and the other for my snes system - the problem I now have is that xpadder seems to exit when hyperspin is running, then the controller doesn't respond to the buttons I have mapped to the profile.

Any ideas??

I should of said my machine spec if relevant - win 7 pro 6 bit.

It does seem to be HS that is causing the issue, as when I run the emulator directly, xpadder stays in the background and the controller works as it should.

ok, I have managed to xpadder to stay running in the background now, while HS is running, 1 problem down!

Next problem - I have setup profiles in xpadder and then setup RL for each of my emulators and global. When I open HS I often have problems getting any systems to run, the up and down arrow work on my controller, but the "A" button which I have mapped to the enter button on my keyboard, doesn't seem to make a system open. Pressing enter on my keyboard still works. I then use my keyboard to select my system, then once this is running, again, the controller doesnt seem to work, as if the profile isnt kicking in.

Running the emulators on their own, with xpadder running, with the correct profile chosen, everything works as it should, its just when I use HS that the issues start.

I have attached some screenshots of global and one of my emulators / systems:

just when I thought I had fixed the problem...

Ok so I think I have pin pointed when this is happening - the controller works (temporarily) in the HS front end, but the minute I start a game it closes xpadder!

This is what I think is causing me issues!

Any ideas?

I had same problems using controller to scroll through HS.  I think its a known issue. I used the script in this video so you don't have to mess with xpadder to scroll through HS

Ok, so i'm giving the startup script thing a try as I somehow lost my abilities to use my xbox360 controller within the hyperspin menu.

I thought i followed the instructions well but i keep getting a pop up box telling me to set my hyperspin_path found in ...

However I found that if I took the Folder part of the message out of the Hyperspin_folder_path out and shortened it to Hyperspin_Folder: the error went away and the startup script started working. YAY!
