Hi guys,

Right - finally almost got my Hyperspin cabinet done perfected etc but on my wheel I still have all the classic home computers. the problem I am finding is to make them work I always need to interject by pulling the bloody keyboard / mouse out.

I realise these computers had keyboards so would be hard (impossible?) to emulate perfectly using only a 2 player 6 button each control panel but what are my options here?.

Delete them? (Would be a shame), or use some magical method?

Many thanks

Dave

Wireless keyboard and mouse is my solution.

And just to highlight something here.  You are going to find that there are many games you are not going to want to play on an arcade.  Consider standing at an arcade for long periods of time while playing Mario Kart or Goldeneye.  My experience has led me to understand that an arcade is good for arcade games.  Everything else, with few exceptions, are better played sitting down.

Hi Adam,

Yeah, I know what you mean... I hold all those systems in real admiration and spent a LOOOONG time on them when I was a kid so returns a real warm fuzzy feeling.. However, I have to be strict and wonder whether I really would be bothered to play them after the initial feeling has gone. I started with a huge amount of system wheels and keep cutting them out.. Feel like I'm going to end up with Just Mame at this rate - which isn't really a bad thing.

with c64 if you only used certain games.. it could work but we're talking about games that were mostly joystick with probably space bar, and commodore key... which is a ton of games but considering C64 games used a ton of keyboard letters as well as function keys... not to mention getting thru the trainers on certain releases that used more keys like +/-, etc. would be a pain in the ass without a wireless keyboard.

Here's what I do.

1. Copy /HyperSpin/Databases/Main Menu/Main Menu.xml to /HyperSpin/Databases/Main Menu/Main Menu.xml.full

2. Edit /HyperSpin/Databases/Main Menu/Main Menu.xml and remove any systems you don't want to see on your arcade

This will give you the look you want without actually loosing any of your roms or configuration in case you ever do want to bring them back. To bring them back just rename Main Menu.xml to Main Menu.xml.new and then rename Main Menu.xml.full to Main Menu.xml.

You can also use this concept to have several options for your Main Menu. Check out this post for more information http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/13393-cutting-the-crap-what-emulatorssystems-have-you-removed/page-2?hl=+cutting +the +crap!
