zetecsjoe Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Hi, I have downloaded around 12000 MAME 7z ROMs, I usually run all my sets through Dom's ROM Renamer to make sure I have a full list with no extras. When I try to scan my MAME folder it either crashes out or actually searches inside the 7z files without me asking it to. Anyway you guys know for me to cross check my MAME fileswith the HyperList MAME XML correctly? Thanks guys
Guest Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 MAME roms never need renaming. They are good as they are.Make sure the rom set version you have matches the emulator version and you're good to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

MAME HyperSpin Database uses original rom names and adds the full game name to the description (you don't have to do anything for that).

ci2own Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 MAME Complete Romset is about 32000 roms. Send me PM if don't know where to get it.You can download filtered mame databases. I have a list excluding Mahjong, Casino, etc. There's a post here where you can download personalized databases.Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando Tapatalk Pro

Metalzoic Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Seems like it would be far easier to just grab the correct non-merged set.

zetecsjoe Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 Thanks for the replys. I only use Dom's ROM Renamer. For backup purposes I like to zip up sets that match the hyperlink XMLs so was just wanting a way to pull what I need from my name full set without it getting.confused and searching through the 7z contents, o don't really want to manually drag and drop nearly 10k games, was just hoping someone maybe knee a trick so it just reads the 7z files name and not contents. I've tried a mixture of settings on Dom's ROM Renamer but no luck

zetecsjoe Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 It doesn't scascan my correct name set properly. Out of 9777 files it finds like 15 or so. I've got a non merged 7z name set with 12k roms

zetecsjoe Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 Yeah, please let me know. As I want to make all the classic sets this way too but no luck either

But best way (at least for me) is to download complete MAMe romset (Splitted) and point MAME (and all systems uses MAME romsets included classics) to the same MAME ROMS folder so you don't have to separate with any rom manager and as i told you is better to update it every month with clrmamepro.
zetecsjoe Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 I know, I know lol. O just wanted to seperate them for OCD collection purposes lol
