Hi All,

I have had a really good search about and I am getting no where.

As the subject suggests, I have windows 10 Pro set to boot hyperspin as a Custom UI using group policy.

I have Autohotkey and a volume control.ahk that I have compiled as an .exe

I have tried setting this to load at login etc, which it does just fine, however, I still have no control over the volume.

The only way I can control it is by using task manager and starting explorer.exe

I dont really want to have to do this, or allow explorer to run before loading hyperspin

Any ideas?

I have also tried VolumeTray to no avail.

Many Thanks

James

Create an ahk script that loads the volume script and HS. Compile that as an exe, then change the custom ui group policy to load your script exe.

Ah, you'll need to find a way to do it that doesn't require explorer.exe as that wouldn't be available with this method of shelling.

I use a key combination to increase/decrease volume.

I have a option key (shifted key) + up/down volume. So you can use it anywhere in hyperspin. Is just an alternative.

Use TurVolumeController right here in the downloads.

Best volume controller, and should be a required program for anybody using a cab. Does a lot more than just volume and I also use it to time/stagger the launching of my other start-up apps including HyperSpin so nothing ever conflicts or fights for focus.

Not sure how it interacts with explorer.exe, but I also don't know why you aren't wanting to run explorer.exe

Running explorer.exe causes the desktop to show. A group policy can be set in windows to load a different interface other than the windows desktop. This is great for cabs as it gives the most polished loading process.

Well give TurVolume a shot. It's awesome. I have mine set so that when the cab turns on volume is always at a safe 8% (never comes on to loud or to quiet).

If it goes 3 minutes without anyone touching a control then it auto dims the sound to mute, but the second someone touches a control it unmutes and resets the volume to 8%. Also lets me set dedicated volume up/down buttons that work at any point, in any emulator or program. Made my cab 100% hands free for babysitting volume so people can play as they please and can never screw it up.

For shelling i simply made a Wallpaper that matches my cab, hid the windows/explorer taskbar etc... so when you power it on it boots into HyperSpin and all windows shows is my Pac-Man wallpaper.
