cowgod Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Hello, I was using Don's HyperSpin ROM Renamer v 4.2, and when I attempt to scan the Nintendo Game Boy xml, I get the following error: Error opening your XML source list: An item with the same key has already been added. Odds are your XML file contains invalid characters. Were you using rom2xml? If so, that might be your problem. Is there an updated XML file that works properly? I would try to find the duplicate key, but there are over 800 entries, so that would take a while...
Yeuxkes Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I've tried to duplicate the error you are getting but I can do an audit without an error popping up. Do you have the latest database?
cowgod Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Thank you for replying. I am using the latest one from the HyperList page, with the direct link of http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/genall.php?system=125 It does seem to work okay in Don's 4.3 beta renamer, but not the 4.2 version.
Yeuxkes Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Yeah I noticed that, the 4.2 version just crashed on my while doing an audit. So I guess you got your problem solved then? *EDIT: you could always check if there isn't a more up to date database under the Hyperbase/database forum
cowgod Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 I suppose so, yes, except I'd be curious to know if it's a problem with the file or with Don's software. If it's the file, I'd like to see @Nil update it so other people don't run into the same problem I did.
Yeuxkes Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I assume the problem is with the xml file, probably an XML code that was left in there instead of the proper tag, example "&" must be "&" because the 4.2 version works fine on other databases.
Guest Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 This will just be because more than one game has the same crc. Some systems have games listed separately that were on the same cartridge, therefore having the same crc. Hypertools doesn't like this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
