NEC Turbo Graphx 16 not playing preview videos

Hi:

I setting up my Hyperspin and have got a few systems running fine now except Turbo Graphx 16 won't show preview videos on a selected game wheel. All the other systems show preview videos for selected games except for Turbor Graphx 16. I'm sure I have HyperHQ pointed at the correct directory and folder. Can someone point out where I have gone wrong. Below is the settings INI for MAME which shows preview videos correctly for the games and then the Turbo Graphx 16 INI settings. Thanks in advance.

assuming you have a system theme for TG-16.. and have HyperHQ pointing to the correct folder with the videos, and they are in the correct format (which shouldn't even be a issue but could be) and the file names match exactly to the rom names... it should work but I do remember having a problem getting tg-16 videosnaps to show but I believe my problem was due to a mixup with  PCE and TG-16.. I may have been using PCE themes and media with TG-16 roms.. but to my knowledge the file names for PCE and TG16 matched.. don't know what I did to get it working but definitely check that the file names match.

I've checked the file names for the videos (flv and mp4) and the names match the rom names. I have the theme as the NEC TurboGrafx-16 - System Default (16:9ST) in the Hyperspin/media/NEC TurboGrafx-16/Themes as default.

Out of curiosity I ran default Hyperspin 133 and the sample video (Aero Blasters) played in the preview screen. So I tried deleting the theme in my Hyperspin and replacing it with the Hyperspin 133 theme as default in NEC TurboGraphx-16 and it didn't look right at all; there wasn't even a box where the video preview would appear.

So I'm still stumped.

maybe try to find some TG-16 game themes.... that could point you in the right direction because if you add the game themes and the videos show up then you know it's a issue with the system theme. hopefully someone with more knowledge comes by to help... just mentioning somethings that helped me out in the past.

you should consider downloading this 3rd party app

 

download and it and extract it to your hyperspin folder

C:\Hyperspin\HyperTOOls.exe

 

this tool will scan your media folders and tell you what is missing.  More importantly it will find media that is not being used or is missed matched to your XML.

I made a very quick tutorial on how to use the program here

audit your image folders to make sure every media item matches your XML, and then we can see if you still have a problem.

So I got sidetracked and was only able to get back to this now. I decided to delete everything in my video folder and re-download the video snaps from emu movies and viola it works now.
