Launching a game = "Could not find hyperlaunch.exe"

I have setup a new hyperspin system on my smaller computer, it has a very small solid state drive and 1tb second drive. I have placed hyperspin on the D: drive and configured it ready to go. I opened up HyperlaunchHQ and pointed it to my hyperlaunch directory.

Games run fine from hyperlaunch but when it comes to launching any game from hyperspin it says "could not find hyperlaunch.exe". I can't move hyperlaunch to C: either due to lack of space. I have read other posts and tried their solutions but there is no such file as system.ini or settings.ini I can find.

Please help :(

There should be a folder 'settings'

In that folder if remember correctly should be a settings.INI

Change the location from C://hyperspin.exe to

D://hyperspin, or wherever your hyperspin.exe is located

Actually after reading your logs, you need to redifine where hyperlaunch.exe is

I'm not at a computer right now, do maybe someone else can be more help

Rick is very close.

There should a file called Settings.ini in your C:\HyperSpin\Settings folder.

Open it up and look in the [Main] section for this line:

Hyperlaunch_Path=

Change it to where your HyperLaunch is installed. Your setup should be:

Hyperlaunch_Path=D:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch

Hope this helps,

Ron

PS: As noted below. You can use the relative path:

Hyperlaunch_Path=HyperLaunch\

A very simple solution to a very simple problem. Many thanks fellas. I can push on now.

Do you think it would be a struggle to get hyperspin to work on an external hard drive, would it be a case of just editing that file again to match to drive letter?

Will it be a struggle? maybe. Will it be that simple? no. It completely depends on what all you are transferring. If you originally installed it on an external drive with the same drive letter it will be easy.

I found out recently that you can use a relative path there so you don't need to specify the drive letter. If you have your HyperLaunch folder inside your HyperSpin folder, Hyperlaunch_Path=HyperLaunch\ works.

I tried the direct paths and kept getting the error message. Then i tried the relative path as you suggested...it finally worked. THANKS!!!!!!!
