bzeeb Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Never had a problem before, MAME used to start up pretty quick ~sub 2 seconds to start when selecting a game. Now for some reason its taking 10+ seconds to load up a MAME game in hyperspin. Nothing is throttling my CPU atm and I have a strong enough rig to handle this. Seems to just be MAME games though, my nullDC works fine. My MAME version is Mameuifx 0.175 64, and it runs quick if I just load it up via the emulator folder. Any thoughts?
Metalzoic Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Made any changes to your PC lately? Anything at all? It also sounds like your Anti-Virus could be delaying it while it is scanned. Has your AV updated recently? If so have you checked to make sure your MAME/Hyperspin files are all excepted from being scanned?
bzeeb Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Yea I was looking at that thread. I'll double check. Its Norton, but I mean they marked all my files as trusted. Anything special I need to do with Norton? @Metalzoic I added the Hyperspin folder to these settings under anti-virus scans and risks section (see attach) anywhere else I need to do this? So far no dice.
Metalzoic Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 No idea. I don't use Norton I just used Windows Defender built into Win 7 & 10.
bzeeb Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Restarting seemed to help it this time. Wonder if it's a ram thing. I'll monitor it and see when it happens again.
volumetric Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Do you use Rocket Launcher? Is your log set to trouble shooting? This can extend launch times considerably. Try disabling it.
bzeeb Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 @volumetric Yes I do, ill double check that as well. Thanks!
