XML hyperlist database down?

Hi everyone,

I'm working on separating out my mame game list by manufacturer, creating systems for each manufacturer (Konami classics, midway classics, Namco classics, etc.)

The process I'm going through is adding a new system via hyperspin/databases/main menu/main menu.xml.

Then, I've been trying to go find the system specific xml to put in the database folder. It looks like the main xml site is down right now...so instead I've been finding the xmls by going to hypermedia section of this website and just finding the arcade system and downloading the xml that way....but these seem old (example the Namco classics one said it was uploaded in 2013).

Next, I put that xml in the database folder, then open up hypersync and then try to sync all media for that specific manufacturer - I default all settings and click update databse. This erases my xml from my database folder! So I have to re-download it per the process above, not click "update database" in hypersync...and then sync all media for that system. This seems to work but I notice that it's not complete...

Example, for most systems the wheel letters do not come over when I sync all media. I have to find the letters manually from the hypermedia section of the website - which sometimes don't even exist (data east, midway, etc)

I'm just unsure if im doing it correctly.

I'm curious if it has to do with where I'm getting the manufacturer database xml from originally - like I said it seems that the main site for downloading these here on Hyperspin is down right now:

http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/index.php

....and I'm unsure what "update database" is supposed to do in hypersync...so far it just appears to delete my database xml for that particular system....so I have to avoid it.

Hypersync usually grabs you an xml so it must be linked to HyperList

depending on your mame romset you can get up to date ones from (he does full sets covering all kinds of split up mame xml's)

check the official name database thread. Also I'm sure there are a couple of files in the download section that get updated regularly with all the different variations

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply...although I'm not too sure I follow -

Hypersync tells me that I have to reference a database xml for it to sync. I was getting the manufacturer database XMLs from here:

http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/index.php

...but it appears the site no longer works...so instead...I've been finding them by going directly to the hypermedia sections on this website, so for example, Namco Classics is here:

.....but, when I put that above XML in my database folder, then go to Hypersync and click "Update database" for Namco classics, it deletes the above referenced XML file for Namco Classics....
