Frank Drebin Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Hi Everyone. Been quite a struggle trying to get HS working for me but system by system I'm slowly getting there. Thought many times to just go with Maximus because it's so damn easy to set up but it just doesn't have the wow factor that hyperspin does. Anyways...getting everything setup through HyperlaunchHQ and when I do a game audit for SNES all but one show as missing. Figured maybe my game list was different than the hyperspin game list so tried to do my own XML. This has worked fine for my MAME collection. What happens when I create a SNES XML file is doesn't look like a XML file when I open it, it looks like this: 10-Yard Fight 1943 - The Battle of Midway 3-D Block 3-D WorldRunner 720 Degrees 8 Eyes Abadox - The Deadly Inner War Acid Bros Action 52 Action in New York Addams Family, The Addams Family, The - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt Addams Family, The - Uncle Fester's Quest Adventure Island 3 Adventure Island Classic Adventure Island II Adventure of Dog Adventures in the Magic Kingdom Adventures of Bass 2 Adventures of Bayou Billy, The Adventures of Catman, The Adventures of Dino Riki Adventures of Gilligan's Island, The Adventures of Lolo Adventures of Lolo 2 Adventures of Lolo 3 Adventures of Rad Gravity, The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Afro Man Afro Mario Bros After Burner Air Air Fortress Airball Airwolf Akuma Bros Al Unser Jr. Turbo Racing Alfred Chicken Alien 3 Alien Syndrome All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. Frank, Hello and welcome to the Forums! Rom2XML doesn't work very well and formats strangely. Try Don's HyperTools. Works very well and easy to use as well. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?20141-Don-s-HyperSpin-Tools-3-0! Thanks, Ron Code Monkey and all around Command Line geek!If you like what someone has said or done for you, be sure and 'Thank' them. And if they changed your life, send them a Beer!
rfancella Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Frank, The other, maybe better option is to get the newest xml from the HyperList. Click HyperApps at the top of the screen and then HyperList on the next screen. Click HyperApps at the top of the screen and then HyperList on the next screen. Thanks, Ron Thanks Ron. I have tried the latest xml from hyperlist and all of the games except 1 show up as red. Thats why I was thinking maybe my rom collection somehow didn't match the generic xml naming scheme?
Frank Drebin Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 I'm renaming my Roms with Don's too at the moment. We'll see if that works!

Get the latest xml from HyperList and rename your roms. That way all your stuff matches the 'Official' No-Intro naming convention. And HyperSync will grab all the goodies. Frank Drebin Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 I don't get it. Names all match, and the list goes green when I choose snes9x as my emulator but no other emulators work (list is red). And I can't get Snes9x to work on my comp.

You have to make sure the Rom Extensions in all the other emulators have the extension you are using for your roms listed also. My other (supposed) working set is in smc. I get the "unable to find snes9x.conf message when I try to launch in hl.
Jdubbs Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Good packs have more than one version per 7z. I used to have alot of problems using Snes9x, I switched to BSNES 0.88 and haven't had any issues.
Frank Drebin Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Got it figured out. I had to install directX and an older version of snes9.
Frank Drebin Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 Well I found what the problem was. The xml file was fine, the games were named properly, but on most emulators for SNES the game audit would still be red. You have to check your supported file types in Hyperlaunch HQ (Global emulator setup), they are auto populated but sometimes do not have all the file types that an emulator can open. ie MESS has a relatively short list. If the file type is not supported the game audit will show red. Simply add the file type in the global emulator settings.
