Hello,

following problem: When i start hyperspin.exe ( latest ) it shows all media included with the systems.

When i enter the system, it shows the wheel with the game and the fitting gamevideo ... So far, so good - but ...

When i choose one game below or above, the gamewheel fades halfly and no video is shown, although i have the correct media ...

This happens with all the systems

Please advice

Are you sure that you have named you media according to the names used in the xml files? Your media has to be named exactly the same including any capitalisation.

Let me refer to Atari 2600..

I checked and double-checked the video folder and the xml...

All EXACTLY the same.

The media were downloaded by Youtube´s "SIMPLY AUSTIN"

You should edit that post so it won't include that site. It's against the site rules.

@jfp That's not correct. Don't post wrong information lol.

The vids for Atari 2600 should go into ..\Media\Atari 2600\Video
Only the system video goes into Main menu\video

Any artwork goes into ..\Media\Atari 2600\Images\...   where wheels go into wheels and usually but depending on the theme used boxart goes into artwork3 and cart art goes into artwork4 folder

yeah mine go in main menu for some reason.. must be a setting somewhere....

Main menu is as the name states, only for the main menu, which is the top level when you enter Hyperspin. It's not for any system related media. Those go into their own folder named exactly like the system name.

This is what the OP is having a problem with, he doesn't see any media when choosing a system. I appreciate you wanting to help out but at least make sure you understand the problem and then give correct information. If you don't you end up confusing people.

THX to all for the fast replies !!!!

I am now trying to copy the systems-folders ( videos ) into the main-menu - folder.

@ Yeukxkes : I see all of the media, for example the cartridges of the atari and so on, but no the videos.

Hope that helps

BTW: I decided to do not copy the videos into the main-menu folder because it seems to be the wrong information ;-)

As i already said the .xml and the video-names are correct, and one week or so i did not have that particular problem.

Also i am using both, HyperHQ and Rocket launcher simultaneously.

More hints, anyone ?!

You should not copy the system folders into the main menu one.

It's quite easy: There should be a folder named Frontend and Main Menu. They both serve only one purpose. Frontend is for the all the media related to HS itself, such as the Favorites, Genre and Exit menu screens. The Main Menu is intended for your top level in Hyperspin in other words here goes all the themes, wheels and videos you see when selecting a system.

Then you have the system folders named exactly like the databases you download from Hyperlist. In these folders you have Images, Themes and Videos - also sound but less important. Your video snaps go into the video folder, Game themes logically go into Themes and in Images you have your game wheels under Wheels. Various cart and box art go into Artwork3 & 4 as explained earlier.

Do your videos play when outside of Hyperspin? And they should be in either flv (kinda outdated) or mp4 format. If they don't play you might have to install a generic codec pack such as K-Lite codec pack.

It's also possible there is no video reference in the default system theme you are using but I think the one from Austin should be good tho. If not you can get either a 4:3 or 16:9 here

Thx for the fast replay goes out to le Belgique !

I checked my directories once again and saw that i have two separate folders called "Frontend"+"Main Menu".

In root i have the media folders with all the videos separated by system, for example, in the Atati 2600 ( submenu of "Media" ), i have image, sound themes and videos. Is this correct ?

I must admit that i downloaded the "Hyperspin - The Frontend" - Torrent with all media, yes, even videos, in it.

The "readme" file says that "EmuMovies" is cool about the torrent because they are not in that good quality.

My videos are correct, despite the fact that they are in ".flv"-format.

Any help ?

what was the size of "Hyperspin - The Frontend"? my atari media folder alone is 800mb+

Does hyperspin say "no video     in the video box? or is it pitch back?

Yes that is correct. My best bet is that the torrent you downloaded is severely outdated. The flv files are a dead giveaway of that. Most video snaps nowadays are in mp4 format. But they should work nevertheless.

Emumovies is from what I know ok with sharing Standard Quality video snaps. Because of the age of that particular torrent I honestly think you are best to start over from scratch. Databases are probably a couple years old and so are the emulators. I don't think Rocketlauncher was even out back then.

A good start would be to watch Avar's Hyperspin tutorials, they are the most up-to-date and officially endorsed by Hyperspin. That way you at least get a grasp on how to make changes yourself cause you will need to do that at some point if you run into problems or have to troubleshoot something.  Link to playlist here

I also recommend getting a subscription over at Emumovies, it is certainly worth the money or you could do as I did and become a media creator because I did too start out with downloading a torrent but ended up throwing it all in the bin cause most of it was trash. Most if not all of the artwork can be had for free here on the download section, only the snap videos are behind a paywall but again it's totally worth it.

Converted all my videos to .mp4 and downloaded them from "Emumovies" ...

Still no luck ... While the first pick of a game ( randomly ALL are playing ) shows the video, the second chosen title ( even when you skip by capitals ) won´t.

The cartridge ( Atari 2600 - the game name ) fades almost to invisibility and the screen turns black, whether its .flv or .mp4 !!!

I´m desperate, i pull my hair ... Can nobody help me ?

I discovered: When i go back to the original systemwheel ( Atari or else ... ) and then pick a game randomly, video will be played. Second pick = Nope ...

Dear, dear Yeuxkes,

unfortunately, it didn´t worked out yesterday...

I sent you my ID and pass yesterday by pressing the reply-button on your PM, seems as if you didn´t receive them.

After waiting on hour or so for connecting, i turned of that machine because i have a life.

Back to my problem: I remembered that i copied the latest files of "hyperspin" OVER the files of the torrented ones.

Perhaps some ( .ini or .xml ? ) - files were mixed up.

@jfp: Thx for laughing me out, but the size was over 95gb !!
