USB Power question.

I'm using an X-arcade dual controller in my cab. Since I'm not using the default button layout, I have to reach inside my cab and press a button that loads the key config each time I Power it on. Here's my idea:

If I connect a USB Y-Cable to the controller and connect one of those Cables to a wall socket, will that give to much Power to the controller and kill it. Or will it it work like I want it to and keep the controller Power supplied even when the cab is turned off?

Do not do that! You can't just hook up 2 sources of power, something will blow. There has to be some other way to load that config. You could at least reroute the button you have to hit to the front.

OK. I won't do that then :) Thanx.

The controller also has a PS/2 connector. If I connect it to the PC with that and only use USB Power from the wall socket, maby that will work.
