Well, like the title says, i want to create xml database from the rom folder. This is because many times i have less/more games then the xml that i get.

I tried doing it with hyperrom2xml but the thing is when i place the xml on the databases and then go to Rocketlauncher and load the database in the games section it always comes back with an error.

Can anyone tell me another way of making the xml from the rom folders?

It is best NOT to create xml's from your romfolder as you loose meta data and other things.

try Hypertools and Dons tools for managing your Hyperspin setup and filtering out your xml's

dons Hyperlist generator can create a xml off the romfolder or I believe there is a feature for this built into RocketLauncher but it's best to stick with proper xml's and filter them with the tools above or the filters built into HyperHQ (rom only filter etc)

so long as all your roms names match the "official" database you should be fine

Ok. Tks for your answer :D

Two more questions. Is there any place where i can double cross my rom file names with the "official" database?

Is there a tut somewhere on how to work with that program and do what i need?

Check the database forum for updated database v2.0 or download section

dont think there are any tuts for hypertools. But doesn't take much time to figure it out. Do it on a test set first! To have a play

I've heard all the reasons why you shouldn't but for certain systems that I only have a handful of games.. I just let RL scan the folder and create the XML based off whatever games I have in that folder... it's simple.. it works and I could careless if I don't have any of the extra information especially for these systems as they are normally the systems that I actually have the games for on the original console.. but yeah people will tell you it's a bad idea to do this.. so to each is own.

Im so sorry guys, but i´ve been looking for some time to the apps that you said but i still cant figure how to interact the ROMS that i have with the programs...

So basically what i want is for example. My philips Cd-i xml had diferent names in it that my rom files. How can i correct my file names to match the xml game names? Do i have to do it one by one??

the renaming tool in don's tool should help you if you just need the XML names to match your rom names. Fat Match is another good one and assuming your media files are matching the XML? that can be another option. those programs are pretty straight forward... what exactly don't you understand?

The thing is aparently many of my roms arent officially named. So i need to rename my roms to match my xml. I´m not being able to do that :(

The only way that i´m able to do that is by changing the XML one by one to match each rom file name and that is a hell lot of work!!

I´ve running all of the apps that you talked about but i cant seem to find how to do what i want...

For example, i download the xml file for panasonic 3do from the hyperspin web site. When i go into RL and do a scan to the rom folder it doesnt recognize any of the roms because the names arent the same like in the xml.

Sorry to bother but i´m really at a lost.

use don's hyperspin rom renamer, it checks crc's which imo is unnecessary but it should work. Im not platinum so i dnt really care if the crcs are correct or even the names, so long as my media matches my rom name i'm happy. I use hyperrom2xml  and iv gotten that error before can't remember how i fixed it :/ anyway it still works you just cant open it in rocketlauncher..

Dons HyperSpin List Generator should work aswell, use it in combination with hyperrom2xml if you dont want to change the rom names, just put your hyperrom2xml xml list into the source xml then scan, you will see a list of all the roms then just cntr-a to select all  right click and add to output list then generate the output list
