BlueGoblin Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I will be setting up the Dolphin emu on my new system soon. I'd like to know if it is necessary to purchase a wii sensor bar to config to the arcade system? thanks, Drew
KrillCaz Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Yes, many games utilizes the Wii's sensor bar some way or another. There are many wireless/USB powered Wii sensor bars available which would be ideal. The sensor bar itself won't need any configuration. The only thing you'll need to do is connect the Wiimote(s) to your computer via bluetooth and supply the sensor bar with power.
BlueGoblin Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 Thanks KrillCaz - can you recommend a wireless wii sensor? Can it be an off brand?
lovemaker72 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Or if you are going to get Lightguns, you can use the Aimtrack bar.
KrillCaz Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Thanks KrillCaz - can you recommend a wireless wii sensor? Can it be an off brand? No problem, I'd go with "Nyko" or "Power A" brand, personally. Or if you are going to get Lightguns, you can use the Aimtrack bar. True, that's actually what I did on my arcade. For my HTPC, I purchased a Nyko wireless sensor bar.
majorspawn Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 i use the Aimtrak sensor bar and its works well. My Arcade Projects: SNES PC Project Vewlix Cabinet LS-30 Rotary Joysticks
klizine Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 For wireless I had a nyko that worked great. But going battery less I use the aimtrak bar and it works awesome. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
BlueGoblin Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 wireless sounds nice but i guess the best thing to do would be attaching the sensor bar inside of the top portion of the arcade plexi glass/plastic and loop the wire to the back usb port of the machine. Here's an off brand wii sensor - would this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wired-Sensor-Bar-with-USB-Plug-for-Wii-Black-and-Silver-Cable-2-3m-/161256196121?pt=US_Video_Game_Motion_Sensors_Cameras&hash=item258b9e4819

gigapig Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If you haven't already, make sure you look at this. Thanks Majorspawn.

darkansi Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Best buy sells a cheap one that runs off batteries. I prefer it because it also lets you modify the distance between the ir leds.
