I will be setting up the Dolphin emu on my new system soon. I'd like to know if it is necessary to purchase a wii sensor bar to config to the arcade system?

thanks,

Yes, many games utilizes the Wii's sensor bar some way or another. There are many wireless/USB powered Wii sensor bars available which would be ideal. The sensor bar itself won't need any configuration. The only thing you'll need to do is connect the Wiimote(s) to your computer via bluetooth and supply the sensor bar with power.

Thanks KrillCaz - can you recommend a wireless wii sensor? Can it be an off brand?

No problem, I'd go with "Nyko" or "Power A" brand, personally.

Or if you are going to get Lightguns, you can use the Aimtrack bar.

True, that's actually what I did on my arcade. For my HTPC, I purchased a Nyko wireless sensor bar.

For wireless I had a nyko that worked great. But going battery less I use the aimtrak bar and it works awesome.

wireless sounds nice but i guess the best thing to do would be attaching the sensor bar inside of the top portion of the arcade plexi glass/plastic and loop the wire to the back usb port of the machine.

Here's an off brand wii sensor - would this work?

Yes, that would work perfectly fine.

There's a good chance it will have problems with the dolphin emu.
