pizike82 Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Hello, I figured I would start poking about at the forums. I found this site through YouTube videos by "The AV Archivist". I was trying to find Retropie tutorials, as I have been messing with those little computers for some time. I was frustrated at the Hardware limitations of the pie to play N64 games, and decided to give this stuff a go.
Avar Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Hello and welcome! Still working with Retropie or switching to something else now?
pizike82 Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 I'm liking the 'Moar' power of the PC for emulation, and I work in IT so I have lots of old machines to use. I was in High school when the N64 was big, so that is my go-to for nostalgia. The Overclocked Raspberry Pi 3 can play a handful of N64 games, and most of those, not very well.
pizike82 Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 Oh , you're the dude from YouTube! Great videos man, spot on tutorials. I appreciate how you get right to the point and don't go out on wild tangents.
Avar Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Thanks I greatly appreciate the feedback! @gigapig has some great stuff too on his channel. Personally I'm glad to hear you're going to PC route, especially if you're starting out with 5th generation console emulation. It's an addictive hobby so you'll never regret having a more powerful system to work with.
