The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Systems without RL Module

I realized a few Official HyperSpin systems doesn't have RocketLauncher module or emulator. For example:

MiSFiT MAME, ALF TV Game, Acorn Atom, Casio Loopy, Konix Multi-System, VM Labs Nuon, etc.

Should it be removed from the Official HyperSpin systems? Or should we ask to the RocketLauncher developer to create modules for this systems?

I know @craiganderson created a lot of modules for this kind of systems. Maybe we could push RocketLauncher developers to include his modules? (If craig wants).

@Avar what do you think about?

Anything with art and especially a database status in the official list. They'l.p. Just be disseminated on a WIP basis.

Doesn't MAME run a lot of these systems now though?

As are not officially supported by MAME module i didn't tried.

If they're listed by NonMAME as being good to go with mame you can just manually set the MAME module for em. I know there are a few systems like this and I'm not sure why they haven't added them as defaulting to that emu yet.

We should know the future of this kind of systems. I guess not all works with mame. Maybe craiganderson can answer us this question.

Eventually, everything will be compatible those are just some systems in a newer state of development. Instead of waiting for things to be fully fleshed out we generally add them as supported systems once there's a lil art and database interest to help guide future developments. Emu/System support should improve in general for all systems in the near-ish future.

MisfitMAME is obsolete; HBMAME is the new MisfitMAME, there's an Atomulator module for Acorn Atom already, Nuon emulation is terrible and the the only emu I know of died with it's developer. Loopy emulation in MAME isn't good which is why there's no point in adding it to the module, although adding it is trivial and I'm pretty sure I listed code for it on the RL forum when someone else mentioned it. Most systems that don't have modules probably have terrible emulation and/or little to no interest because they're obscure.

So this obscure systems or the replaced ones (MiSFiT MAME) should be removed? or we should wait for someone to create modules?

In my opinion i prefer only official modules if possible. I guess all Official Systems should have a working module and emulator.

Thing is even though certain things are defunct, some people with older cabs still use them so they're left in eg. MiSFIT MAME. Takes no effort to leave it and it doesn't hurt anyone so we leave it to support the people with potato comps who already have it. Moving forward, that kinda thing will be available but won't be a default system by any means.

Maybe should keep this non 100% working systems in a Testing Section or something symilar. To keep it separated of the official ones till they can be emulated. Is just a suggestion.
