Dilated18 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Just wondering why we dont use higher resolution or larger dimension wheels? All my main menu wheels are very large in size and you can see a huge difference in how much clearer they are on my tv screen. I would guess that having larger wheels would be more demanding on the pc but I havent noticed any issues.
SupraKarma Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 My 'ultimate Sega Saturn' has noticeable stutter when fast scrolling the genre wheels. I've downsampled all of them on my end (but didn't bother to update it), and it reseolved the issue. My PC isn't top of the line but it's respectably fast. The official size standard is 400x175. We could probably squeeze a bit more size out of them than that, but there's a threshold where noticeable stutter and slowdown begins to occur. The big artwork looks nice but at the end of the day I need an interface that doesn't suffer from performance issues.
Dilated18 Posted June 25, 2017 Author Posted June 25, 2017 Thats what i figured. Was guessing that just didnt think HS would be very demanding to begin with. Cool, tx for the response.
SupraKarma Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Np. Just out of curiosity, what size are your main menu wheels in pixels?
Dilated18 Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 Most the wheels i use for main are from THK system logos, so huge. But 50 main wheels vs 500 plus system wheels, I can see the hiccup.
