srLucas
Hi All, I am new to Hyperspin and I've been following the guides to set it up properly. I am currently watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQRg4tMFdpY&list=PLKkoYR3SrcmcOrfryNXamq2za8Q4S0Nii&index=5 And I'm stuck with renaming/matching my roms to the latest mame.xml database. When I run the Dons hyperspin tools renamer. It matches 0 of 9772 roms. Is there a better way than matching them manually? It seems like a lot of work! Is it a good option to create a new list from the existing roms and then merge it with the one I downloaded from this forum? Thanks a lot, Lucas
thatman84
Hi Lucas Welcome to the forum. Couple of tips on the mame stuff (im not expert so hopefully some confirms my tips) This all depends on what version of mame roms you have. Hopefully you know. I believe the newest version is 0.187 1. Dont use the Hyperlist XML its out of date. 2. Never rename your mame roms 3. Your best to grab a set of roms and find the matching version xml. There should be no renaming needed The best current mame xml's are created by the phulshof and the links are found in this thread. With this being the latest post Also check his mame wheel ary thread for a link to best current art/video set. There other artwork sets in the download section. This thread also has a different take on the mame xml. It unclones good games so you can use the parent only filter to cut your list down to sub 2000 good games. Check the later pages I think Phulshoff will be including a set in his extensive filtered xml download above.
phulshof
I think that if you have 0 matching roms, you probably don't have a MAME rom set. Can you post some romnames? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
