Ridu83 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Hello, i need some help on getting MAME running with hyperspin. I installed MAME 0.190, got the correct Roms and i can start Games via Mame 0.190 i configured RocketLauncher and HyperHQ like done before for other systems which are working well. i did an audit for the games and most of them were found and highlighted green. when i try to launch a game via rocketlauncher it wants me to check if i have the correct version of emulator for this module. i think this is a problem with the mame.ahk version 0.166 how do i get or create a mame.ahk for version 0.190? Thank you
Creezz67 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Hi, Make sure in RocketLauncher you set skip checks to rom extension There is nothing wrong with current Mame.ahk I have MAME 0.190 running using it.
Ridu83 Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 Okay thank you. I will try. So the ahk Version has nothing to do with the mame Version?
Creezz67 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 no, that version has been on this module for a long time and works fine (i think its 0.166 on module) It will only be changed if for some reason there is a problem with latest mame not working (which there is not)

Please check you have the correct version emulator installed for this module, followed any notes in the module, and have this emulator working outside your frontend first. also turn off fade to see if you are hiding your problem
Creezz67 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Have you set your mame bios path in RocketLauncher ? Go to MAME.ahk in modules, then click edit global module settings tab Inside there you will see an option to set mame bios (point this at your romset) assuming you have downloaded the bios set for your roms which are required. Read notes in module if still having issues. Also ensure your computer has all the relevant runtimes, direct x etc installed.
Ridu83 Posted October 27, 2017 Author Posted October 27, 2017 Where (in which line) do i have to set the bios path? i changed someting in the .ini but that only caused more errors how has it to be written? in the moment the ini looks like this :mameBiosPath := moduleIni.Read("Settings", "MAME_BIOS_Path", emuPath . "\roms",,1) i think that means that the mame.ini is directing to the module where the correct Rom/Bios directory is set
Creezz67 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Go to RocketLauncher Click on Module tab at top of page Then click on mame.ahk then above that click on edit global module settings This will brong up the screen below. Then point highlighted path to where your mame roms set is
KillaBLK Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I am encountering the same issue. When I try to assign what I think is the BIOS location it tells me absolute paths are not accepted... ?
Creezz67 Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Sounds like your setup is not correct. Just click on the hourglass and point it to your MAME roms folder. Have you installed the mame bios set for your version? If you haven't, then download it and put it inside your romset. MAME is pretty simple to get up and running if your Hyperspin and RocketLauncher setup is done correctly. It's not the module and it not the settings if you have checked rom extension (unless you are using a merged romset, then use rom only)
