The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Hyerspin won't stop spinning with Ultrastik 360s

I have two Ultrastik 360s connected (both have been set up correctly) and I cannot get Hyperspin to stop spinning after pressing just one direction on a joystick. I've read some solutions to this issue and the common fix seems to be assigning the stick directions in JoyToKey to keyboard arrow keys. I've attached an image of my JoyToKey setup. Even when I just use the keyboard's arrow keys to try to navigate Hyperspin, it still infinitely scrolls after one key press. I have both Joysticks set to disabled in HyperHQ as well. Also, I'm using the Hyperspin Startup Script for the sticks because Hyperspin wouldn't recognize any inputs from the sticks whatsoever before I ran the script. I've also changed Hyperspin's key mappings as shown in the 2nd attachment to the arrow keys, as well as HyperHQ's keyboard mappings to the up and down arrow keys in the 3rd attachment. Before I went and changed every mapping I could find to the arrow keys, Stick 1 was set to N, M, V, B for Left, Right, Up, and Down respectively. Stick 2 was set to U, I, T, Y. I've tried supplying as much information as I can here, but if there's anything else I can show that might help with this please let me know.

That is typically  a problem that you would see when not using the startup script with joysticks.  With the startup script you would think....

I think I figured it out Andrew, you might want to reassign the key presses in the startup script to reflect what you have assigned in joy2key.

I think you're right in that the issue here is the startup script. I went ahead and changed the script ini file as shown in the attached picture to match the directions of JoyToKey. I don't know the terminology for arrow up, arrow down, etc. for the ini file so I went back to N M V B. It still keeps spinning, even when using just the keyboard to try to control Hyperspin.

I had the same problem with the wheel spinning uncontrollably with a single press when I hooked up the Dolphin bar and WiiMotes. The way I fixed it was to go into the startup script.ini and find the Joystick setting "MaxNumberOfJoysticks=4" and change it to "MaxNumberOfJoysticks=1"

Give it a try and see if it fixes it for your setup

This was the solution! Setting it to 1 fixed the infinite spinning.

Awesome, glad it worked for you too.

You might only be able to control select games using the player 1 controls this way, but at least it fixes the issue.

Thanks for the help. I've run into another issue though and was wondering if maybe you had the same thing. When I launch a game in Hyperspin, the wheel will scroll maybe 20 games up or down right after I've pressed the button to launch the game. The correct game loads, but it's annoying not being brought back to the game I selected when I return to Hyperspin. Did you have this same issue?
