Windows 7 black screen of death? not sure

So i was messing around with the shelling my system and obviously i did something wrong. When I boot the system, it boots fine but stays black with the cursor... i can do a ctrl alt del and can access task manger but not sure what to do in terms of fixing what i did/

can anyone advise please?

I've never shelled anything, but would system restore work?

Also is there a second display attached?

Well if taskmanager works you can run explorer.exe to get desktop back and regedit.exe to remove your registry changes. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Now make a backup or restore point with system restore before you shell yourself out of the system. Ha. Ha. Glad you got it back.
