The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Pressing enter to launch game takes 10 seconds before launch starts

I have a problem I hope someone can help me with.

When I press enter to launch a game, nothing happens for about 10 seconds.  It doesn't matter which system I'm on or which emulator it's using.  After about 10 seconds, finally, the fade in screen will come up and it will start launching the game.

I want it to do "something" immediately after I press enter, though, because other people using my cabinet think it's broken and I see them press the enter key over and over and over again, thinking something is hung up or not working, when all they have to do is wait 10 seconds.

I just think 10 seconds is way too long to have to wait before something starts happening.

Is this normal behavior?  Is there anything I can do about it?

If I launch a game from RocketLauncher, it's almost instant, so it's definitely something with HyperSpin or some setting(s) somewhere.

Thanks,

Try going into RL, Settings, fade-general and see if the fade in duration or delay settings are set too high (or see global setting to change for all systems)

if so just change to what you require.

Ok, it was set to 5000.  I set it to 0.  Then I turned fade in off altogether.  That made no difference.

Thanks for the tip, though.

Any other suggestions?

I just did some more testing and need to amend my original post.  If I try to launch a game directly from RL, it still takes 10 seconds before the fade screen shows up.  So it's not a HyperSpin problem, per se.

I've made a post over on the RL forum, but if anyone here has any ideas, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
