The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Mame requiring TWO presses of ESC to close...Can't use HS this way...

I have a weird problem...

For whatever reason, Mame has started requiring two presses of ESC to close. This is fine if I was launching direct from RL all the time. I'd just press ESC twice and it wouldn't matter.

But I use HyperSpin and need it to close on just one press of ESC.

I have my UI Cancel button (closest thing to an exit button) set to ESC in Mame and I have my exit emulator key in RL set to ESC.

I can exit all other emulators just fine with one press of the ESC key.

I have no clue what to do here and really need some help with this one big time because Mame is played more than anything else on my cab.

Right now, only one game can be played, then since Mame doesn't actually exit, another game can't be played.

It's weird, though, because on that one press of ESC it does do the regular fade out screen and closes the bezel. Mame is just left running in the background with the game and everything running, but HyperSpin is on top of it, so other than hearing the sounds of the game you wouldn't know it was still open.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer,

It looks like if I turn fade out off, the problem goes away...But I'd really like to use Fade out. [emoji20]
Lol... you have a knack for finding the oddest little quirks.

Since mame exits with escape by itself, have you tried just not having an exit key set in RLUI under the mame system?

I know lol.  I had so many quirks before, I thought there might be something wrong with the computer so I just ordered a new one and swapped it out last week.  Still have a lot of the quirks, though, even with a new computer and "c" drive.

I'll try this suggestion and report back.

I would like to use fade.  I've noticed since my original post, it's actually happening on all emulators when fade out is turned on.  So it's not just Mame.

Thanks,
