sreisig1
My Hyperspin is freezing when it first get to the main menu wheel for anywhere between 15 seconds to 45 seconds. I hit the arrow button on keyboard to scroll through and the video previews moves for a split second and stops each time I hit the key. It eventually frees up and can navigate fine and videos play and games load fine. I have an i3 4340 3.6Ghz processeor, 8GB ram, and a 4TB Western Digital Black hard drive (its fast). What is causing this issue? Should I upgrade to an i5-4670K Quad-Core?
gigapig
Sounds odd, have you turned all the settings down in HyperHQ under Optimizer? and is your media correct? Is the wheel art the correct size, no more than 400x175? is there a rogue one in there?
sreisig1
Sounds odd, have you turned all the settings down in HyperHQ under Optimizer? and is your media correct? Is the wheel art the correct size, no more than 400x175? is there a rogue one in there? I'm not sure, I'll have to check when I get home. The first system that comes up on the wheel when hyperspin loads is AAE, and it freezes on that and then goes eventually. I'll go check the settings. Maybe it's the video? I read in another forum that it could be the video is still in flv format and should be mp4 now with the new version of hyperspin. '
gigapig
If you can, get rid of all your flv vids as I've heard mixing them can cause crashing. Move the aae vids out of the folder and test it.
sreisig1
So the AAE video on the main menu is an mp4. I noticed it really only freezes when I open hyperspin right after my computer boots up (I have an SSD with my operating system on it and hyperspin on separate WD Black drive). If I leave the computer for a while and then open it, it doesn't freeze. Would getting a faster processor fix this? Cause what will happen when I finally shell windows and boot directly to hyperspin, I won't be able to wait and then launch hyperspin right? So kinda need to pinpoint the issue. sportinguista
My response arrives 5 years later but I think I´ve fixed this same problem in my machine. I´ve got an arcade with Hyperspin running at startup in full screen and after 20 seconds reproducing system videos and medias it suddently freezed. Only was recovering if I connected a mouse and simply clicked (blindly, just pressing the left click), and after that all was fine. So I thought it was a problem of losing the focus by another Windows process and making Hyperspin process go to background. Then I used ccleaner to deal with startup processes and services and deactivated almost all of them which were suspicius of getting the focus once loaded. Since then Hyperspin seems to run perfect from start so in my case this solved the problem. Sreisg1 commented that he/she had a SSD as I do, so I´d tell him to watch SamsungMagician process just in case. But I know I´m a bit late ... Hope this helps someone desperate like I was.
