Question

I am having difficulty modifying the Fusion Module in RocketLauncher to set the multi tap type for each 4-Player title so that when I select these 4 Player games in Hyperspin, it will automatically recognize the correct multi tap control setting for that particular game (whether its 4 Way Play, Team Player, J Cart).

I set Controller_Reassigning_Enabled to true in the Fusion module ini.

The setup to define the multi tap type and controller settings for each game via the RocketLauncher UI seems very straight forward, but just. Isn’t. Working.

Not sure what to try next. When I open the games separately just using Fusion outside of RocketLauncher and Hyperspin, everything works fine if I select the proper multi tap type in the controls settings.

I just can’t seem to get RocketLauncher to do that for me by editing the Fusion.ahk

please please please help!

This is a worthy endeavor! General Chaos and Mega Bomberman (and many others) are outstanding 4-player games.

You shouldn't have to edit Fusion.ahk to do this. In the same folder as Fusion.ahk, you should see the attached file, Fusion (Example).ini ... copy this file and rename the copy to Fusion.ini and you should have the result you're after. (I say to copy it, so you can keep the untouched original to use as a source if you decide to edit anything in the .ini you're using.)

Hope this helps!

Still nothing Andyman! I wonder if I have fiddled with too many things at this point to where now the simple solution doesn’t work. I copied the example file to rename it and overwrite Fusion.ini

Should there be anything in the Sega Genesis ini file in the RocketLauncher modules folder?

Maybe Hyperspin/RocketLauncher is somehow not recognizing that I do indeed have 4 players worth of buttons and joysticks? When I launch a rom directly from RocketLauncher, or through Hyperspin (via RL), neither seems to apply the appropriate 4 player controls.

Maybe there is something I am missing in the Fusion ini file in the Fusion emulator folder itself?

All controllers have been configured using the Fusion emulator directly, for all different 4 player modes, and each of them works when I run test games by launching Fusion directly.

*pulling my hair out!

Thank you for the help so far!

The only other thing I can think to try is using RetroArch instead? Once you have controllers setup in that, it applies to all the emulators (cores). I don't have any more help than that, sorry.
