Yoeddy1 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Hi guys, Been a long time since I've updated MAME, but I'm pretty behind the times where it's at now. When I last updated, I grabbed a compiled x64 version that had high score and no nag support built in. Do I just need to grab the no nag support version now because MAME has high score support built in automatically? Also, do I grab the MAME64 or Arcade64 version? I'm assuming there's also a corresponding xml file for Hyperspin available as well still? Thanks, Jason
mikea213 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 you are correct. Pick which ever one you would like I compile both version for everyone.with no nag. I personally use the Mame64 because I dont mine have to change a few lines. But arcade ver is just a graphic version little easier to tweek.
Yoeddy1 Posted December 28, 2018 Author Posted December 28, 2018 Thanks! And now MAME has high score support built in? Jason
artman999999 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 .172 was a milestone for Mame, but a lot happened in the early .190s, as well. Colors and graphical accuracy within the emulation are significantly better now, and the introduction of bgfx is a nice alternative to hlsl if you have a more lightweight processor. That said, you should prepare for a large percentage of your roms to broken by the new version. If you have a lot of roms, you may want to use a program to automate the update process. I personally only have 300 or so roms in my cab, so it's not such a big deal.
