MAME hiscores not saving when launched from Hyperspin

Hi,

I have looked everywhere, on the fora over here, at Rocketlaunch and elsewhere but up until now i haven't found a working solution.

I am using Hyperspin 1.5.1 with Rocketlaunch 1.2.0.0, both the latest versions if i am correct, to launch MAME Roms. The roms start, this is working fine so far. I am using MAME 0.198, and as far i can see i have set all the things that i can find correctly as described in the fora and internet, like the plugin settings within mame.ini, enable the hiscore support within Hyperspin, etc. But it doesn't work...

When launching outside Hyperspin/Rocketlauncher, using MAME itself or another front-end like GameEx hiscore saving works fine as it should be...!

What can i do to fix this, does someone have a clue?

Kind regards,
Mart

Come on guys, with all the years of knowledge at this forum there should be someone with a clue?! It's propably something simple or stupid, but i still can't find it...

Im on .205 and have no issues. Make sure you have Hiscores set to 1 in the mame plugin.ini file mine stopped working for abit and I had to go in and set it from 0

thank you for the response. but that's the point, it's set correctly within the plugin.ini, mame.ini, andeverywhere where it can be set. Also, it's working when launched OUTSIDE rocketlauncher (with mame itself, or gameex), but when launched thru rocketlauncher it does not... That's the strange thing and why i am here asking ?

None of those ini's are set to read only by chance? I remember something about hyperspin not liking that. Also make sure you have the most current hiscores.dat file. Maybe try also a current version of MAME. Update you Rocketlauncher also Im on 1.2.0.1. Hopefully that helps.

Thank you again for your reply, no, there is no read only, not everywhere... hiscores.dat is the most actual as is rocketlaunch and hyperspin... as said, it works fine when launched outside rocketlauncher. Even when i start the emulator MAME from rocketlauncher and then select a game it works! But when a game is launched from Hyperspin or directly from rocketlaunch it's not working...

This is strange, and i have the feeling i am so close... Rocketlauncher is feeding something to the launch sequence which cause hiscore saving to stop working but i can't find what it is...

Still no solution found. Is it possible to bypass rocketlauncher when starting a MAME rom from Hyperspin?

No Hyperspin needs Rocketlauncher. You dont have cheats enabled by chance that will affect it also. If the answer is no then maybe something in HyperHq isnt set right. If your ok with it and know of teamviewer maybe we can set up a session and I can take a look at your settings which would be easier than trying to guess on here.

Make sure RL is set to use the MAME ini (I forget where this in in your emulator settings tab). Maybe that's it.

If you were using HLSL, you'd notice since without this setting anything launched in RL wouldn't have the shader turned on. Just a thought.

GREAT, this was the trick! it works now, after copy the mame.ini to the sub \ini folder... I knew it was something stupid ?

Thanks again you all!
