Sega causes system to freeze

I’m new to hyper spin and to this forum and it seems to be a wealth of knowledge around. I have hyperspin setup and everything worked fine. I was playing Sega genesis games the other day. I got done and turned off my PC. Now, every time I try to select a game, it freezes. It lets me get through all the way through, and freezes at the “now loading” screen. I can see the wheel at the bottom right hand corner still spinning but it does so for as long as I let it before I force close the entire program. What could have changed to cause this?

I checked and nothing else is showing in task manager except hyperspin. It’s stays on the loading screen but if I hit the windows button (windows10) and hold my mouse over the HS icon, you can hear the game I was trying to load in the background

Check that Windows Defender, Firewall or anti installed anti virus is not blocking hyperspin in the background and disable/ set exclusions for them if required.
