HyperSpin launch at Windows start up

Im having trouble getting hyperspin to launch when windows start. at first i tried just putting it in shell:startup and shell:common startup. neither of these worked.

then i tried going the shell launcher route and setting HyperSpin.exe as the shell. still nothing.

the thing is, hyperspin launches manually no problem at all.  it is on D:\ drive, which is an external USB drive. which may have something to do with it. but ive made sure drive is set as non removable and indexing enabled etc. and i dont think this is a hyperspin issue but more a windows issue.

just wondering if anyone else had this issue, ive tried some searches but nothing comes up.

( Windows 10 Pro 1903 )

*edit* i got it to launch using a batch file when explorer.exe starts. so thats one way. but now that ive disabled windows UX, id like to have hyperspin as the shell rather than launching from a batch file.

Windows10 entreprise 1809 seems to ignore when you shell a software from registry or group policies, it still uses explorer.exe.

I use launcher4kodi, you can select another software to be launched at start instead of kodi https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=136798

nice one, i tried that and it actually works. thanks for that. have you had luck disabling explorer.exe with it?  even with xmbclauncher set as the shell, explorer.exe still loads at start up along with hyperspin

This is what I use instead of shelling... I have it start w/ Windows, then have it start HS after a 1 min delay.

Would really recommend you look into it. It's an indispensable part of my setup.

Good luck!
