32assassin Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 video themes in hypespin are nothing more then generic themes that play a video in full screen. you need to find ANY existing theme that is built to play the video in full screen make copies of the theme and rename them to match your rom name. place the theme RomName.zip in MAME theme directory HyperSpin\Media\MAME\Themes video RomName.MP4 in the MAME video directory C:\HyperSpin\Media\MAME\Video
valtski Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Hello, just wanted to jump in and say thank you to 32assassin (as well as all of the other Hyperspin Guru's that I have read over the last year, which have helped me through this Pandora's Box we call HyperSpin). I have been struggling with the new mp4 video themes, and this answer finally got through my thick skull. A quick question, I have downloaded several mame MP4 themes from the Emumovies FTP site, however, it appears there is not a download file available for the preconfigured romname.zip files. I don't mind putting in the work and copying and pasting/and renaming a couple thousand times, however, if there is a more efficient way to do this (re-namer utility?), it would be great to hear about it. Thanks for listening.
32assassin Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Download all the Video themes you want Place them in a Temp Folder Create a second Temp Folder and place your generic theme in it; name does not matter download Fatmatch Start fatmatch.exe and click on "Start Match Wizard" 1. Rom path ---> Path to your Video themes; Make sure they match the MAME rom names!!!!!!! Images path --> Path to the folder that contains your single theme. 2. Make sure!!!!!! to change the value under "Matches greater then" to ZERO!!!!!!!!! 3. Click Start at the top Wait for the Program to scan your video files from the Results tab Click on "Select Options" and select "Select Best Matched" Because you set your match to 0% all your video files will be matched to your single generic theme Click on "Rename Files" Fatmatch will make duplicates of the single theme and rename them to match your video names.
