Fade in Music Problem

Hi all,

I have background music for my themes in HS and I've found an issue when using it and a loading screen(Fade In).

Basically when I launch a game from the wheel the background music for the theme will stop as desired for a moment, and then restart on the loading screen(Fade In) for a brief while until the game has finished loading.

Is there a way to stop the themes background music from playing again during the loading screen(Fade In) or possibly have it continue playing from the wheel over the loading screen so I don't end up with it stopping and starting? The effect is jarring when the rest of the front end runs so smooth and I'd like to fix it if I can.

I'd be happy with either of the solutions above but haven't been able to achieve it in my own experimenting and thought I'd ask here before I go mucking about in ini's and ahk files.

You can probably get the music to stop playing by setting the "Suspend Frontend" to "true" in RLUI.

Thanks for replying, that didn't fix it unfortunately. Do you have any other suggestions perhaps?

Doesn't make sense if the music is in fact coming from HS, suspending it should suspend the sound... I guess it wouldn't be all that surprising if it just opened the sound in a different process though???

Are you using RL fade sounds? Is it them "kicking in" that makes the music stutter? Or is it soon as the fade screen pops up? You could try disabling the fade in sounds and see if you get a more continuous music effect.

Admittedly, I don't use any background music. Hopefully someone who used them before can chime in.

That's what I'm thinking is happening but haven't found anything that points to this.

I'll have another dig around in the files with this in mind, see if I can come up with anything, thanks for the suggestions Spawk.

So after a few hours experimenting and digging through AHKs it seems to be a problem with how RL handles the Fade In animation as suspending the front end makes no difference(as stated before) and I've found that switching the Transition Animation in RLUI from Default to Legacy helps the situation a lot.

It's not perfect but it is miles better than before so I'll compare the code for the two options tomorrow to see if I can find out why. Been staring at code too long this evening to make it worth doing right now.
