MAME roms launch through emulator and Rocket Launcher but not HyperSpin

Hi all,

I've been trying to fix my system for days and days.  I cannot figure out what the problem is.  I've read EVERYTHING on the internet.  I've changed settings.  I downloaded the newest HyperSpin.

Games work perfectly if I launch directly from MAME or if I launch from within Rocket Launcher.  But if trying through HyperSpin, I can use by stick (X-Arcade) to scroll through system and games, but when I attempt to start a game through HyperSpin no button or keyboard key will start the game.

I read and checked from the post below.  No help.  I've run out of ideas.  I'm usually very good in finding and fixing any type of computer issues.  Not this one.

Can anyone assist?

What button did you set as start then? It is "Enter" by default.

Thank you for the reply.  The start key is the number 1 in all three programs.  I've attached the setting page from HyperHQ.

1 on keyboard should launch then... make sure HS is the window in "focus", should be exactly same as in RL.

It's definitely in focus because I'm selecting Mame from the wheel using the joystick and the start button and/or the number 1 to select it.  I then can scroll through all the hundreds of working MAME games with the joystick, but nothing will start a game through HyperSpin.  I've tried pressing every key on the keyboard.  Other keys can scroll, choose genre, favorites, etc.  Nothing starts a game.

Then I can only go back to the original post you linked, do you have a filter set in HQ?

These are the only settings that affect making launching from RL and HS the exact same.

A Hyperspin log and an RL "troubleshooting" might reveal more:

You didn't specify whether or not you have a filter set.

You didn't upload a Hyperspin log.

The RL log you did upload is the wrong one.

Judging on behavior, I still feel like it is something in that first post you linked. Take note that the path to RL in my pic is set to "Z:\"... I hope you used the actual drive and path to your RL exe.

You nailed it.  I re-checked my  Hyperspin settings.ini and it was not correct.

The path above was set to HyperLaunch.exe instead of RocketLauncher.exe.  I checked it before, but I guess I it was close enough that I missed it.
