cynder9792 Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Hi gang, I am fairly new to HyperSpin but have been using straight MAME for many many years so I am not a complete noob but as we all know MAME and HS are different animals. So here is the backstory, a couple of months ago I grabbed the 300GB AIO package and after some tinkering I got it working, I think I had to get HyperSync, there were still some bugs to work out but I could at least get it working with my keyboard. Then I discovered the 3TB download so I figured if I was going all in I should be going big. Downloaded the RAR files and extracted but did not think to shut off Windows defender so there were plenty of files that were blocked so when all was said and done I ended up resetting to factory condition so I could start fresh with everything. While doing this I upgraded to Windows 11 so that may be another issue to address but I cannot get HS to launch. Everything is running off an external hard drive so I plugged into my laptop running Win10 and could get it to boot up but no games will play. I have added the needed font, updated RocketLauncher so all emulators are showing but will not launch so I wanted to get some advice before going any further as I am sure it is something to do with one of the settings that I am just over looking and do not want to add or delete something that I should not. From the description of the game pack it should have been plug and play but I have been working on it the last couple of days with no luck. My next step after work is to download HyperSync and see if that works but any other advice is welcome, thanks in advance!
Spawk Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Hypersync is for easy setup of all the artwork... and it is for platinum members only. It has nothing to do with launching games.

It has nothing to do with launching games. Okay thanks for pointing that out. For some reason I thought that is what I used to get it working when I installed the 300GB AIO setup.

At first only the frontend would load, tried to start a game and got an error, fixed that by updating RocketLauncher. Now I am getting the "waiting for error window" which I have found some info on so need to mess with that after work. I suppose if there is a tutorial on getting a pre-existing download pack working that is what I should be looking for, like something with a checklist, check this, check that, etc...and work down a list.

I have updated to the 1.5.1 and verified games work through rocketlauncher, verified directory paths are correct but hs just will not launch. My guess is there is some directory I am missing and any advice of what to check for would be great. Not much time to mess with it during the week so trying to get some advice so I can work on it this weekend.
cynder9792 Posted October 28, 2021 Author Posted October 28, 2021 To add to my last reply I should repeat that only the 2tb hs build will not launch outside of rocketlauncher. The 300gb build boots fine and plays with no issues. I have tried Frankensteining the media and games folders to the working build but it doesn't detect any new systems/wheels in the hs home screen, only what originally came with it.
