Hyperspin freezes

Hi,

I have set up a dual monitor, one for the frontend and emulation and the other for marquee (using EDS)

When I launch a game I can play with no issues, but when I exit the frontend will freeze. The only way to bring if back is to click the mouse on the screen. If I disable EDS it all works fine, so it looks like the second screen takes over when a game is launched, hence why I cany use the fontend, and when I click on the main screen it brings it back into focus.

I have gone into FL and used the 'restore and click' option, but that doesnt resolve the issue.

Any idea where is has gone wrong and how I can fix it?

Try turning off fades in RocketLauncher.  Also, X-padder has been know to cause issues.  Let me know if that helps.

Appreciate the response. I will try tomorrow but I have a feeling fade is off but will double check.

Is X-paddler park of RL?

I’ve tested this and fade was already off but couldn’t find x-paddler.

any other ideas of what could be causing this issue?

That’s for taking your time to send this. I’ve checked and the setting look the same (within reason) however I have foind that if I create a new marquee set, it works and HS doesn’t freeze. However, it still loads the old overlay so I need to kill that first. Just trying to work out how to disable that marquee set as even when I set a new one as details. When i restart the arcade it returns.

i do feel like i am setting somewhere and will continue tomorrow

These are my settings in HyperMarquee.

Global Setting:

Foreground:  I believe this is the Marquee that will show on top.

 

Artwork:  I place all alternate artwork here.

I feel I am slowly getting somewhere and your help has been greatly appreciated.

I started from scratch and I still have the same issue, however, if I load a game and go back to the menu it will freeze like before. But once I click on the screen and start the same game again, it will not cause any issues and I can go back to the main screen and it will work. This is per game, so once click it works from then on. 
 

it I restart the cab, it will forget the games I have played and I need to start that cycle again.

 

if feels like there is a overlay somewhere that is taking focus for each game, hence why the game will work without fail when I click on the screen as it punches whatever this could be to the back.

Does this happen with all the emulators or just a specific one?

It’s on all emulators.

It definitely feels like it has given the focus to a window that I can’t see. I’ve looked into task manager and that showed only HS and HM. Although I do notice a slight grey line at the bottom of the screen that is usually visible when I bottom task bar that has been set to hidden.

im sure it will be something obvious, but just cannot pinpoint it. I’ve also tried to get RL to click on exit but again, no luck

What I have now found is that each time a marquee loads, it is loading in a new window. So after a while I could have 10 marquees open. This is likely what is taking the focus and the reason the pc slows down after a while. Just need to work out why it opens in a new window and not just change the marquee with the already open Hyper marquee

I have managed to fix the issue with it loading mutable times in a row, but still not resolved the issue of loosing focus with Hyperspin when returning to a game

Believe it or not, I am still having the same issues.

So I can see that when I exit a game, it makes the marquee screen the dominant one, hence why HS freezes and a mouse click on the main screen will resolve the issue.

I have posted on other media like YouTube and was advised to 'Change the exit method to alt f4 in the module settings tab' but I am not sure what settings tab the guy was referring to and unfortunately hasn't responded to me response.

I was looking to start from scratch with the new HS V2 but this doesn't look to have support for Hyper Marquee yet.
