Scorpion XG Controller works fine with MAME but doesn't control Hyperspin Menu

Hi,

I have bought this controller ... http://www.digitalsystemsdesign.co.uk/shop.php?action=full&id=14

It's a Scorpion controller.

I have copied the cfg file provided with the controller into the MAME folder under Hyperspin.

The controller just doesn't work with the Hyperspin menu ... ie I cant scroll through the wheel or select games.

If I use the keyboard to choose a game then the controller works fine within the game.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm really struggling here.

According to their website it's a keyboard controller (like an X-Arcade or i-pac) so you should just have to map the keys in HyperHQ. Make sure joystick, trackball and spinner controls are disabled.

Hi thanks. I'll try disabling the joystick then. Do you think I need to unplug the keyboard ... Ie the real keyboard? Thanks

I did this and I'm having problems. I can scroll up and down using the joystick on my X-Arcade Dual but when I press the player 1 button which by default sends a "1" key press to the PC, the game doesn't open. I'm having HyperSpin open to the MAME wheel and it's the only wheel. So all I should have to do is find a game and press player 1 (1) and it should open the game. No good. Any ideas?
