Hello everybody,

Guess this's already been discussed....When I select full for hyperspin, screen is streteched and all boxarts, whee, ... are stretched.

Is it posible to get Hyperspin run fullscreen without any stretch effect?

Thanks and regards,

As far as I know Hyperspin was originally 'developed' to run on 4:3 or 16:9 aspect, therefore most of the themes, artwork and backgrounds are setup like that. The Hyperspin background wallpapers are 1024x768. If you run this on 16:10 it will appear stretched.

Someone made a widescreen theme pack, but it's not a remake of existing it's a new set of themes. nice, but not as you have now.

You can find better resolution images on the FTP and in other places. At the end of the day this is designed to be a front end gui and so 4:3 is correct.

Do what I am doing: Set it all up, get it all working, highest res disk/box art as you can find and then once you have Hyperspin working properly, which takes a lot longer than you think then maybe spend some time making themes of your own.

The short answer is yes but it's complicated. Hyperspin was only designed to run at 4:3. There have been themes created to run at 16:9, but to achieve that it's tricky. Basically you have to create a theme at 1920x1080 or higher res and than shrink it down to 1024x768 and import it into hypertheme. If you want it so stay all nice and crisp than you need to convert everything to flash first. It's messy and time consuming.

As for artwork you need to get some software like fotosizer (it's free). Import all your artwork and reduce the witdth by 33% if I'm not mistaken - could be 25% I can't remember now). Keep the height the same. When in hyperspin the artwork will strech and display properly.

There are also programs on the forums that let you run hyperspin itself inside a bezel, essentially as if you're monitor was 4:3. Check it: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?32939-HyperBezel-(Show-two-images-at-the-sides-of-HyperSpin-when-using-16-9-Monitors)

Cool. I had never heard of that. Someone really needs to to hack the Hyperspin EXE file and change it to support 1920x1080 just like the guys over at WSGF (Wise Screen Gaming Forums) do.
