Hi, I'm new to all of this but I got everything running perfect except for certain roms for mame will have messed up colors. I don't know what to do please help. Thanks.

I'm no expert, but try a different version of the rom. Depending on where you got it, it may be a different rom version than your mame version. I'm not sure if that can cause it, but worth a shot.

Just wanted to add that the rom runs well with the emulator but when I run it through Hyperspin the colors are distorted.

I'm running mame 32bit version 148 I haven't tried all the games but these are the ones I tried and have given me wrong colors.

Simpsons arcade

88 games.

I'm sure there are more.

How do I post a snapshot?

How do I post a snapshot?

Just press print screen (Prt Scrn)

A screen shot will saved to :\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Media\Artwork\MAME\Game Name

Also some games that run straight through the emulator work but won't work through hyperspin.

Thanks in advance

That's bizarre. I know that's not helpful haha but hyperlaunch just feeds the rom to the emulator, it shouldn't change the graphics at all. Wait... in hyperlaunch, open your module settings and see if you have anything amiss there...

That would then suggest hyperlaunch is passing something on to mame from the settings in HLHQ? Like hlsl or maybe something else?

EDIT

Or video mode?

That's all I can think of.... unless there is some kind of severe hardware limitation having both hyperspin and the emulator running at the same time is exposing. If I were you, I'd delete my mame.ini and start fresh to see if that fixes it. But it seems like beyond some kind of hardware thing, yeah hyperlaunchHQ must be telling mame to do something different than it normally does. Also, I know I shouldn't try and troubleshoot from work, but could this be a module issue since he's using an older version?

Now that I think about it, what version of hyperspin / hyperlaunch are you using?

Edit: I'd bet a dollar that changing either video mode or hlsl will correct this problem.

No you could be right about the Mame version and module version, that does ring a bell. The OP could, if all else fails download 0.154 and test an offending Rom, if the Rom works with 0.154.

As your a platinum member you can grab a compiled version of mame from jumpstiles ftp folder, may I recommend the mameuifx builds. Those builds will give you nonag and hiscore support, but you may need to update your Roms if you use 0.154.

You have no video card so that could be the problem or could it be that Flash is the issue here.

So give some more details about your machine, Intel chipset can give issues at least with mp4 video, there is a thread dedicated to that.

Have you tried a different video mode for any of those games? From the example screen shot I posted earlier you can set a video mode on a per game basis.

I tried playing with the video options but nothing help. I can't find the hsls option.
