Issues running MAME clones

There's a few clones of MAME ROMs I'd like to run (2 player version of Gauntlet for instance, since I have a 2p cabinet), but when I put a clone in the XML file for the wheel, it doesn't show up, even though I have the option to show/use clones enabled in HyperHQ. Suggestions?

Better to create a custom MAME.xml file using Don's HyperSpin Tools and drop it into your HyperSpin>Databases>MAME folder. I made a little video that can help you where I did the same thing but for TMNT:

This issue can be caused by a few items.

1. HyperHQ includes options to only show items with a wheel images, videos, and themes. If enabled you will need to make a copy of the parent's media and rename it to match the clone.

2. There is a naming error in the XML and it is not matching the rom.

3. You are using a merged mame rom set and during HyperSpin's audit (if enabled) it is not finding the clone's zip file.

I'll have to check that out when I get home. Didn't Don's HyperSpin Tools get phased out? The DL page indicates it's no longer supported.

It still works fine.
