sreisig1
I have an original Area 51 cabinet and needed new t-molding for it so ordered some 3/4 off ebay. Only issue is I just got it and tried to install it and the slot on my cabinet is 1/8 as well as on my control panel. I'm assuming thr one I ordered is for 1/16" slot? Reading around seems like most people make a 1/16 slot for their cabs. I don't have a choice and have to use the origiginak slot. Anyone know of where to get light green 3/4 t molding for a 1/8" slot?
sreisig1
That sucks :/. Both the dedicated cabinet as well as the xarcade tankstick both have 1/8" slot.

rdhanded2
Is the t-molding just loose and not staying in the track?
sreisig1
Is the t-molding just loose and not staying in the track? As for the cabinet, I ripped the old t-molding out since it was dirty and crapped up, and for the tankstick, took out the black to match the green. Bought the t-molding and its for 1/16" slot, mine is 1/8". So yes, the t-molding is lose and not staying in the track because I'm putting 1/16" into 1/8", a hole double the size. I'm starting to realize that finding light green for 1/8" might be impossible, so I would even consider doing it all in black, if it were easier to find black 3/4" for 1/8" slot. Could probably use 7/8" for 1/8" slot on the control panel since I added an eight inch of plexi to it.
rdhanded2
You can add hot glue to the groove then put the 1/16 in if you have bought it already. A lot of the grooves get larger over time and multiple molding swaps and require it anyway. It holds great and comes out easy if you need to remove the glue later. I guess I'll just have to do that. Going to take a lot of hot glue. Haha
rdhanded2
Not as much as you think. We do it all the time at the shop.
sreisig1
Not as much as you think. We do it all the time at the shop. Well that's good to know. Thanks, was in a bit of a panic when I realized it didn't fit correctly and Jeremy above said they never heard of 1/8" slot. Appreciate your help and means for hope. albert_c
You can also use black electrical tape as a filler. Just run tape along exposed cab edge. Add another layer on top that if you need more thickness (do some testing on a small section). Cut off any excess if the tape is too wide/thick. Then wedge the t-moulding in. We did that back in Woodshop class in High School.
