I have HyperLaunch.exe but it cant find it.

i try to play a game on hyperspin. but it keeps saying that it cant find hyperlaunch.exe. i'm sure i have it! i never deleted anything. how do i find it and direct hyperspin to it?

i heard someone say that i should find settings.ini and do it that way or something but thats pretty vague for me. can anyone here help?

Welcome to the forum benny.

Yes whoever mentioned the setting.ini was probably right. You'll find it in the Hyperspin settings folder, you need to add your path to Hyperlaunch including a backslash at the end of the line.

ok. thx! by the way, is there a way for me to get the official mame wheel images? its just blank text for me that says i could get the video at emumovies.com. is there any way i could get the actual wheel images and videos? ive been searching forever.

If they are not in the downloads section (I couldn't see them) then the only other way is to donate (click the button up top.) Gold membership gets you access to the ftp where you can download the artwork (Wheels, Themes etc), and platinum allows you to use Hypersync Cloud, that allows you to sync your systems you have setup and download the media for those systems. If you have also bought membership at emumovies then it will sync those as well, it won't however set up your systems for you, it just syncs the media. If all you want is Mame then perhaps gold memberships is for you.

Also remember not every game has a theme, wheel or video, there are around 1488 Mame themes and 6607 wheel images.

It's looking at the path you supplied but then can't find it.

If you've followed the correct folder structure then the path should be :\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunch.exe

I think yours is looking in the HyperSpin folder which would be very wrong

If holding left or right button down which brings up the letter jump, or adding games to favourites or using genres is not enough, maybe have a look into this, Hypersearch.

I've not used it myself, but may be worth a look.

I Have my folders as such it goes

Hyperspin and then inside that folder is the the folder for hyperlaunch then inside of hyper launch i have hyperlaunch hq inside its own folder

You'd need to go into Hyperspin> Settings folder, open the settings.ini and change the Hyperlaunch path including the backslash at the end.

Do you say that because the version shows 1.0.0.0 or is there another way?

I did notice that but dismissed it because mine shows the same version.

If the person has the right path setting and it shows up in the log without using the path setting than the setting isn't being read for some reason. In this case it's probably an out of date version.

According to this guy the settings being used are

Z:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\

His log shows

10:15:14 PM | HyperLaunch located at Z:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch.exe

If Z:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\ is his/her actual setting than the log should show 10:15:14 PM | HyperLaunch located at Z:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunch.exe like mine does. Either the person posted the wrong settings being used or they are using an outdated hyperspin.
