connorsdad Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Having played pc games released in the last 12 months using a regular arcade stick and 7 buttons, then upgrading to a wireless 360 pad this weekend, I can honestly say an arcade stick/button combo just will not cut it. I read the threads regarding controls and modern games and discarded them thinking I'll get by just fine, I was wrong, this is why companies spend thousands if not millions designing control pads. Sure I managed to play the games but it just wasn't fluid, today is the first time I really enjoyed playing these games. If you want to play modern console/pc games don't waste your time configuring your controls or key maps, either play them as they were meant to be played, on a console or pc built specifically for that purpose, or like I did, use wireless 360 controllers.
connorsdad Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 For anyone thinking why keep them on your cab if you need to use a game pad, I have a hdmi out at the back of my cab, I will plug this into a wall mounted hdtv so I can sit down in comfort and play these games too
connorsdad Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 If it's a modern game in a retro style then sure, arcade controls are fine.
