jamaster14 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 So ive spent the past 2 nighs trying to get ePSXe to work in HS. outside of hyperspin it works by going to run iso and choising the .img file. plays fine. When i try and launch it in hyperspin it either: -finds the .7z file if i dump that in the roms directory and wont play it (i cant play via 7z file outside HS or -wont find the .img and throw an error it cant find the rom. i tried various ways for the second method. i tries dumping all the files(.img, .bin, etc) all in my roms directory, ive tried using the file structure in the tutorial listed here where i have a folder with the game name as it is in the XML with all the files for that game inside using the game name from the xml doesnt want to find it. i edited hyperHQ o read .img files for PS1, that did not help. not sure where my error is, if its the name, the file types, my xml, something in HLHQ or HHQ or my module, etc... read a ton of threads here but nothing vie tried off them seems to have help. anyone have some time to help me try and square this away? I feel like everything is where it needs to be and im missing something obvious? should i not be opening the .img files? should i be using load cd and not load iso?
sparkolicious Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 What are your settings in hyperlauch HQ? general settings are set to 7z = true, Daemon tools = true, use SCSI = true? In eXPSe config did you select the correct drive letter? The drive letter should be the virtual drive where the images will be mounted. In ePSXe go config -> Cdrom -> Configure, then select the drive letter associated with the dtools virtual drive. I don't have any .img files cue/bin all 7z archives.

jamaster14 Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 Open up daemon tools and look at the virtual drives it has listed. ok so i set: Dtools to true scsi to tru .7zto true(all other items in the 7z secontion are set to global not sure if that opened dtlite.exe and it shows my D: drive as the drive went to epsxe and set the config to D: went into hyperlaunch HQ, went to games, ran a game audit. clicked on one of the found games and clicked launch and it gave an error: "no valid roms found in the archive "castlevania - symphony of the night (USA).7z" please make sure the rom_extensions contains a rom extnesion in side the archive 7z |zip | cue|bin"
sparkolicious Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 you need to add the extension in hyperlaunch HQ. SO.. in hyperlaunch HQ select "General" in your systems list, and then select the emulator tab. Select ePSXe and edit. Add |img in the list next to rom extensions.

Thanks, I'll try that when i get home!
jamaster14 Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 added |img likr you said and now get a new error: "daemon tools was sent to .img which is not a mountable file extension"
Climber Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I think he means the extension of your roms in the zip file
jamaster14 Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 7z|zip|bin|cue|iso set it to that... it now goes back to the error that it had before: "no valid roms found in the archive "castlevania - symphony of the night (USA).7z" please make sure the rom_extensions contains a rom extnesion in side the archive 7z|zip|cue|bin|iso"
Climber Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 First look what your rom extensions are in your zipped rom files? they must be a extension that deamontools supports!!!
jamaster14 Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 First look what your rom extensions are in your zipped rom files? they must be a extension that deamontools supports!!! they are .7z files and inside the .7z archives there are .cue and.img files i believe(can confirm later) does DT not support .img? can i just rename the .img files to have a .iso extension?
Climber Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 You should try, .img is basically the same as .iso just save your work before you try
Climber Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I thaught Deamon Tools supported .img but not sure????
sparkolicious Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 are there just .img files or do you have .ccd and. sub? try changing the .img extension to .iso
sparkolicious Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 or... go find the archived .iso files and roll on lol!
Noodles103 Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I think I had the same problem...I kept getting the error about not finding the ROM file. I am using the *.img files as well. I think the problem, now that it is working, was the fact that the Playstation database file within the HyperSpin directory was calling a different "game name" other than how the .img file was named. For example, the database file was calling out "Destruction Derby (USA)" as the game name but the .img file was simply named something different. I changed the .img filename to be "Destruction Derby (USA).img" and it worked.
Noodles103 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 For another test I left the original filename for the .7z (DestructionDerby.7z) and changed the game name in the playstation .xml database file to match my .7z filename. This worked as well after I enabled 7z in the global settings. See the before and after shown below from the .xml file, remembering that my filename was "DestructionDerby.7z", I only changed the game name and not the description. I usually backup any .xml file just in case I make it worse than when I started... :-) (Original) <game name="Destruction Derby (USA)" index="" image=""> <description>Destruction Derby (USA)</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc></crc> <manufacturer>Psygnosis</manufacturer> <year>1995</year> <genre>Driving</genre> <rating>Other - NR (Not Rated)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> (Modified) <game name="DestructionDerby" index="" image=""> <description>Destruction Derby (USA)</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc></crc> <manufacturer>Psygnosis</manufacturer> <year>1995</year> <genre>Driving</genre> <rating>Other - NR (Not Rated)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game>
WelshJohn Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 If you have .img files (Like me, along with a .sub and .ccd file). Assuring they are named correctly and can be picked up by HyperLaunchHQ, just do the following: Add img to the list of extensions for eSPXe, as detailed earlier in this thread. Then on HyperLaunchHQ under Sony Playstation, Click on the Settings Tab. Under Main Settings set DAEMON TOOLS Enabled to False. eSPXe should now just load the image without trying to mount using DAEMON TOOLS. DAEMON TOOLS is the devil. One further thing to add, as this thread seems to the primary eSPXe one at the moment. Teamviewer conflicts heavily with eSPXe, if you are having issues running anything, try closing Teamviewer...
darealdoomer Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Never would have suspected teamviewer. Thanks!
sonicboom88 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Yeah I had the same thing with team viewer had to add it to my batch script to kill when I start hyperspin. Hyper Helper Ready To Help
