Black screen when moving game wheels

Hi guys,

Sorry if this sounds like a really basic question, but I have noticed that when i'm flicking through the game wheels, each time I choose a different game the theme background flashes black (for a second) and then the background appears. Its quite annoying when you are scrolling through hundreds of games.

It seems to happen on most of my systems except for genesis?

I've tried having a look through hyperhq but cant seem to find an answer? (I did look at the reload backgrounds option in hyperhq but its off for all my systems).

I have reload backgrounds checked for all systems as most are lacking themes so that helps with the video snaps.

You could maybe play around with the optimizer as well, I did have all the options checked, but recently unchecked 2 on someones recommendation. It's now a smoother experience.

Hey mate!

Thanks for the tip. I've updated as per your settings and now the black background flashes have disappeared.

Although I have noticed a new problem since switching to these settings.

The cart and cover (art 3 and 4) stops displaying now after I move from the first game. It only reappears now if I choose a game that had a theme. Then it stops working again?

And the videos stopped working?

All fixed.

I turned off "themes wait for special".

Somehow I checked off a couple of the boxes mentioned in this post and my Game Themes quit loading correctly. The First  Game Theme would load but not the next Game Theme and this happened throughout most of the systems. Once I unchecked "Wait For Special" everything started working correctly.
