fecty Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Ok after reinstalling due to dumb ass user error, (i overwrote GRRR), When i launch HyperSpin it starts, i see the start up video, and when its done i see the wheel with all the default systems. When i select Mame nothing happens, it just kinda starts the selection process again. I i have the Emu and Rom paths correct in HyperLaunchHQ. I set them in HyperHQ, select the MAME wheel, and set the rom path and emu path. Should i be checking anything else in this area? Like i said i get nothing when i click mame from the wheel. i doesnt take me to the sub menu/game list. I tried it will Atrari 2600 and stella as well. Nothing. Thanks for the help.
gigapig Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Did you add an extension? For Mame it would zip. Maybe uncheck any boxes under wheel filters and see if things are the same. That all relates to Hyper HQ btw, which is the GUI for setting Hyperspin. Hyperlaunch HQ is the GUI for setting Hyperlaunch.
Fromlostdays Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Giga, this is OBVIOUSLY a missing database xml. For shame moderator. Check your hyperspin/database/mame folder. If there is a file, open it in notepad and see if anything is written in there. If not, just update it via hypersync or off the FTP. Oh and if there is a database xml and it has a list, make sure you named your systems right. If your system is "Mame" and the xml is titled "MAME" it won't work. Opening a wheel inside Hyperspin has nothing to do with Hyperlaunch or HyperlaunchHQ. You can have no roms and no rom path and the wheel will still open if you have a proper database file. You won't be able to launch anything, but it should open. Walter:beerglass:
gigapig Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 This is why I didn't mention a missing database HyperSpin will normally tell you, unless there is a problem with what's there. I'm a moderator not a Hyperspin expert.
Fromlostdays Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Hmmm, I forgot about that error. Maybe a malformed database then? I've had this problem before but it was years ago. Edit: The easiest way to check would be to run an audit in HyperlaunchHQ. Walter:beerglass:
volumetric Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Check your hyperHQ options, If you have themes only checked and you have no themes, this will happen. Or maybe its the old no speakers plugged in bug.
fecty Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 So it was the Speaker Bug. I found this on the boards, someone was having the same issue with SNES. Thanks for all your help http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?26069-Selecting-the-SNES-doesn-t-enter-the-systems-stays-on-main-wheel-menu Anyway here are a few pics Was an old Mortal Kombat cabinet . Just recapped the monitor, bought a new flyback, new buttons and joysticks, mew CPO and rewired it all. Need to work on controls x-padder or something so i can do mame and daphne and maybe a few others, get cabinet speakers working and then get some molding and art.
