Mupen64plus in Retroarch

I must say there are things I love and hate about Retroarch. My biggest frustration with Retroarch is the use of shaders with all emu's. You literally have to go through each one and see which one works best or if it works at all. Example is the Mupen64plus core:

I for the life of me can get this thing to run in full screen. I've used rice and glide64 with no luck. Does anybody have a shader combo or a specific config they are using to run full screen?

Thanks in advance

There are versions that automatically pick plugins, I'm not sure about the latest. I find one linear pass of advanced aa to make the 64 look absolutely incredible. As for making it fullscreen... you have to set fullscreen to true in video options and then change the aspect ratio.

Shaders don't have anything to do with running fullscreen. Are you using a test build of retroarch? By the way, in my ftp folder I uploaded a few shader presets for a few systems, just my own preferences.

What is your resolution set at in core settings? 1080p resolution puts my picture in the lower left corner of my screen. So your saying I have to stretch the screen back out manually in the custom aspect ratio setting? Thanks for the response.

I use fullscreen but I never set my aspect ratio to stretch to my 1920 by 1080 monitor, so I always play with black borders or bezels. So we have two different uses of the word fullscreen here:

We have "the emulator is launching fullscreen, as in NOT in windowed mode"

and we have "the game takes up my entire screen."

The nintendo 64 was not meant to be played in 1080p, so you will have to stretch the image to get it to cover the entire screen. I'm concerned that anything "puts my picture in the lower corner of my screen." As far as I know, when Retroarch is set to Fullscreen (not windowed) it centers every image regardless of aspect ratio. I'm thinking that you may be using a test version with a bug? Or you're not setting Retroarch to launch in fullscreen (not windowed) mode.

Edit: For Nintendo 64 I don't use bezels, so I keep Retroarch to Fullscreen: true and my aspect ration is "Core Provided" which I'm pretty sure puts it at 4:3 and gives me some black borders on both sides of the image.
