shaybe Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I am wanting to order a USB snes controller. I know the top of the line is from retro USB, but they seem to be sold out, and I don't have the tools for the do it yourself kit. Looking on amazon no e of the controllers have good enough reviews for me to trust buying any of them. Can anyone help me out who may own another brand or knows where I can get a good one? Thanks!
duff.the.dude Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 You will find these USB controllers don't feel at all like the original controllers. If you care about that, I would recommend looking for an original controller on ebay, then get a USB adapter for it. Have a look at http://raphnet-tech.com/ Also http://spawnlinux.dyndns.org/Bliss-Box/ if you want a multi-in-one adapter.

Lewis Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I have a couple of spare retro USB chips from my snes hyperspin controller mod. If you can't get any help from someone over there I may be able to help. I'm based in the uk
shaybe Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 I can make you one That would be cool. Like soldering the chip into a controller for me? I'm also considering just getting a snes to USB adapter, not sure yet.
Zinger19 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 If you wanted to do that you'd need buy the parts and pay for shipping both ways. The chip is on sale for $14 over at retrousb.com. Another option you have would be for me to solder up a spare controller I have and sell it to you for like $35 plus shipping. I just picked up an extra controller yesterday and bought some extra chips cause they are on sale so I have the parts if you'd be interested in that as well. shaybe Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 Thank you for your offer. After looking up some reviews I think I am just going to go with a tomee controller for now, unless anyone knows a reason why I should not?
Halfaworldaway Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Stay away from the Retrolink Snes controller, they are garbage, i bought 2 and both had the same problem, when you press down on the d-pad it registers on the right also.
