Trying to get this system to work properly.

Tried Retroarch but I always get a black bar on top of the screen and games like Air Zonk don't work. I got it to work perfectly with Magic Engine but I can't find a module that has bezel support.

Any other recommendations? Does anyone have a working module for magic Engine that supports bezels?

Thanks again Craig. I did that. Had never used mednafen before. What a pain to setup but at least I got it running and the bezel works as well. Not 100% happy with the scanlines yet. Will have to play a bit more to get it perfect. It's a real shame Retroarch uses the fast PCE core instead of the accurate one from mednafen. I really like the RA shaders better. At least this one works really well and it's was worth the time and effort to set it up.

You can get the RA core to look just like stand alone Mednafen by changing initial scanline to 4 and last scanline to 235 in the core options.

Edit: Forgot you also need a new enough nightly build of the core. There was a black bar issue that couldn't be fixed by changing the scanline option I reported which was fixed back in September.

And if you find a few US games like Air Zonk or Bonk don't boot, you need No Intro versions of those ROMs.

I downloaded the latest nightly cores for RA last night. The black bar issue at top of the screen persisted. I tried a few different shaders an nothing fixed it.

I'm almost 100% sure my rom set is from No-Intro but I'll double check. Are you sure you don't have a black bar? I'll download the latest complete RA package and try that as well. The cores alone dd not do it for me.

For reference, here's the closed issue: https://github.com/libretro/beetle-pce-fast-libretro/issues/6

And here's how Bonk III looks with the latest nightly:

There are still some games that will display black bars like Rondo of Blood, but that should be accurate to the system. I think even Magic Engine displays those in that game. I wouldn't think you'd necessarily need the latest RetroArch .exe file for the newest core to display properly, but it's worth trying.
