Hi

I am unable to launch N64 with retroarch it gives error as follow

cannot retro core options in config directory after loading screen

I have setup 64 core and saved in config folder which is exist but every time I launch thru get HS get this error. If launch without HS can run perfectly. What could be missing here?:boring:

In Hyperlaunch HQ under module I notice red circle next to Retroarch.ahk

and if click inside the new window it shows

Invalid CRC, module might have been tampered

Other systems run perfectly even without setting up config files.

Hope some one can help me million thanks

Did you create a config file for Nintendo 64 in RetroArch and then name it "NNintendo 64"? I'm assuming you've already set systems up in RA.

The red warning triangle is ok, it maybe that you are using a modified module. Perhaps update and get the latest version.

After running the retro I loaded the core of N64 and than saved the config file . I can see a folder of config in retro and inside with n64 file but not same name as you mention above. Do I need to rename ? But other cores are working fine.

Bro,

How can I can update to latest version module?

Thank so much for your help

That means I need rename all config files to system name

I noticed even some systems without config files or without renaming them still can run from HS. In fact what is the use of these files? Sorry for noob question.

Probably so you can have per system settings.

Update via GIT.

I am not entirely sure what that error refers to but here's my guess, and I'm away from my PC at the moment.

Did you point to the core in HLHQ?

It's under Global Module Settings I think, once there you should see a long list of cores, you need to set the path to the Mupen core.

Hi bro I did pointed all my systems to retroarch which are using this emulator.

Other systems like sega, snes are working fine. Is there anything I am doing wrong here? I smell something bad here.

I have changed the setting in global to mugen64plus and tried renaming and without renaming core cfg file in retro cfg folder, but now stuck in loading game page this time.

Hopefully I have figured this out for you, fingers crossed.

As you have already created the config I will miss that step.

What you need to do is run RetroArch outside of HyperLaunch. Extract a game, then in RetroArch load the N64 cfg.

Then go to load core and point to the game you extracted.

Once the game is running you can now close it.

Go into your RetroArch folder and open the configs folder, you should now see ".retroarch-core-options.cfg" you need to copy this and paste it into the root RetroArch folder, then rename it if it has the "." at the beginning (retroarch-core-options.cfg)

That should then get rid of the warning from HL.

Gigapig You are super genius . thanks alot.

One more new problem I have is with Nintendo Famicom Disk System and I have already placed the disksys.rom file inside the retro/sys dir, but when I load outside or inside HS after the loading words it goes straight to dark screen and nothing happen. In my Retroarch config folder have 2 files of Nestopia libreto and Nestopia libretro.dll both renamed to Nintendo Famicom Disk System and Nintendo Famicom Disk System.dll. I tried without renaming also but same pro. What could be wrong here?

bro another thing I want to ask if Retro /config folder which you said we need to rename the config files to match the system name.

In a case like one core support 2-3 systems how will I rename those?

Example one core have 2 files as follow

Nestopia libretro.cfg and Nestopia libretro.dll.cfg both of these support Nintendo Entertain System, Nintendo Famicom, Nintendo Famicom Disk System.

Do I need copy above both and copy paste 2 new sets of same file and then rename them and throw in cfg folder per system?

After doing above failed to load the system it says cannot find original nestopia libretro.cfg

What I did was rename the config files and created more sets if is under same config and last I edit the global setting editor for Retroarch.hk pointed all the renamed config files to each LibRetro.

Am I doing something wrong here?

thank you for helping me out. I learning everyday something new.

Do not rename the nestopia libretro.dll. cfg file. Ever. You will get an error. Just leave it in with your other configs.

Save your nestropia libretro.cfg

Select is and press copy

Name the first copy Nintendo Entertainment System

Name the second copy Super Nintendo Entertainment System

HL can tell the difference and will launch the appropriate configs every time. You then just need to launch through HL, make any edits, and exit (if save config on exit) is set to true.

thanks will only rename libreto cfg files excluding dll,cfg files that means all the cfg file will be renamed to system name & those with dll.cfg will left unchanged and try again.

But do I need to edit the global setting for Retroarch.hk by point all the systems 1 by 1 to renamed config files to each LibRetro?

Based on your tutorial I got one question:

Example: snes9x_libretro.cfg

(Copy this file into the same directory which will give you another file called ‘snes9x_libretro(1).cfg.’)

Rename ‘snes9x_libretro(1).cfg’ to ‘Super Nintendo Entertainment System.cfg’.

Does it mean I need to keep one original file of cfg & rename the one with (1), so on..?

Below global edit settings I will have to point each core to the renamed cfg files right?

example: nestophia_liberto. = Nintendo Entertainment System?

Did you point to the core in HLHQ?

It's under Global Module Settings I think, once there you should see a long list of cores, you need to set the path to the Mupen core.

I have renamed nestopia.cfg to NES systems and untouch those dll.cfg.

And then pointed them in global settings to same rename file. But then I cannot load the game below are some pictures for easy understanding

Do you mean I need to keep Original nestropia libretro.cfg in the folder and rename the copies to the system name & then Module Setting point it to Original Nestropia .cfg or to the the rename one?

Thanks this info helps me.

I'm unsure about what to name my config file. It seems my install is using the default settings. What or the proper names for the .cfg ?

Thanks
