namdor
wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or use this one. I am having a similiar issue but unsure why. Just to be clear I had a working 1.3 setup and I decided to do a fresh install of 1.4 I did not buy a drive. I I can launch a game in RLauncher but I can not launch any games from within hyperspin since I updated to 1.4. I can see all of my games and wheels but when I hit enter on my keyboard games do not launch from within hyperspin. here is what I believe to be the important part of my settings.ini: [Main] Menu_Mode=multi Single_Mode_Name=Nintendo Wii Enable_Exit_Menu=true Enable_Exit=true Exit_Default=yes Exit_Action=exit Version=1.0.0.0 Last_System=Nintendo Entertainment System Hyperlaunch_Path=E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\ and here is the my last log: 10:36:32 PM | HyperSpin Started 10:36:32 PM | Going windowed mode 10:36:32 PM | Checking for updates 10:36:32 PM | Update Check Complete 10:36:32 PM | Startup program unavailable 10:36:32 PM | Menu Mode is multi 10:36:32 PM | Loading Main Menu.xml 10:36:32 PM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 10:36:33 PM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 10:36:34 PM | Loading Nintendo Entertainment System.xml 10:36:34 PM | roms_only is true, checking files 10:36:34 PM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 10:36:34 PM | Nintendo Entertainment System wheel loaded successfully 10:36:35 PM | Launching Game 10:36:35 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:35 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:35 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:35 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:35 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:35 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "10-Yard Fight (USA, Europe)" 10:36:38 PM | Launching Game 10:36:38 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:38 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:38 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:38 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:38 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:38 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "10-Yard Fight (USA, Europe)" 10:36:39 PM | Launching Game 10:36:39 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:39 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:39 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:39 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:39 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:39 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "10-Yard Fight (USA, Europe)" 10:36:39 PM | Launching Game 10:36:39 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:39 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:39 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:39 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:39 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:39 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "10-Yard Fight (USA, Europe)" 10:36:40 PM | Launching Game 10:36:40 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:40 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:40 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:40 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:40 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:40 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "1942 (Japan, USA)" 10:36:40 PM | Launching Game 10:36:40 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:40 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:40 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:40 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:40 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:40 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "1942 (Japan, USA)" 10:36:41 PM | Launching Game 10:36:41 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:41 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:41 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:41 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:41 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:41 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "1942 (Japan, USA)" 10:36:41 PM | Launching Game 10:36:41 PM | Using HyperLaunch 10:36:41 PM | Getting Launcher path 10:36:41 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:41 PM | Launcher located at E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe 10:36:41 PM | Running Launcher 10:36:41 PM | Launcher Command Line is: E:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe "Nintendo Entertainment System" "1942 (Japan, USA)" 10:37:07 PM | Loading Main Menu.xml 10:37:07 PM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 10:37:08 PM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 10:37:09 PM | Exit program unavailable 10:37:09 PM | Quiting Hyperspin 10:37:09 PM | Bye! does anyone have any ideas? SIMPLYAUSTIN
3 main reasons mate.... Settings.ini not pointing towards rocketlauncher.exe Hyperspin folder called something strange or with numbers. Transition tool needs to be used (although I only need this for 1.3 or upgrades)
namdor
Hey Austin! Thanks for responding so quickly. My hyperspin folder is just called HyperSpin I have changed it to point towards rocketlauncher (which I just thought the actual launcher exe just never got renamed when they upgraded to rocketlauncher) and I get the same issue: [Main] Menu_Mode=multi Single_Mode_Name=Nintendo Wii Enable_Exit_Menu=true Enable_Exit=true Exit_Default=yes Exit_Action=exit Version=1.0.0.0 Last_System=Nintendo Entertainment System Hyperlaunch_Path=E:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher\ and I don't know what the transition tool is... I did follow your video though when I did the fresh install.
SIMPLYAUSTIN
Put the roecket launcher.exe file with exact capitalization in that address to mate
namdor
that is exact. but I got it to work just now. I had to add the .exe at the end so now my setting that work look like this: [Main] Menu_Mode=multi Single_Mode_Name=Nintendo Wii Enable_Exit_Menu=true Enable_Exit=true Exit_Default=yes Exit_Action=exit Version=1.0.0.0 Last_System=Nintendo Entertainment System Hyperlaunch_Path=E:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe I didn't think you had to type .exe I thought you just needed RocketLauncher. Whew. I knew someone could kick my butt in the right direction. Thank you Austin! Can I delete Hyperlaunch from my hyperspin folder then? I have no clue why it is still there since I did the 1.4 upgrade and am using rocketlauncher.
SIMPLYAUSTIN
For anyone else with same issue, what needed to be done was THIS Now for the HyperLaunch Folder yes mate, there should be no problem getting rid of it. although make sure you have all your settings and media backed up from there if you have used it previously as you may want to add them to your RocketLauncher setup. Media such as Bezels and Fade could be in there depending on how you had it setup Glad your up and running mate!
